一、“阴间”。(原为地府之神名)是死人所在处,徒二2731(诗十六10,传九10)。位于极深之处,与天相对,太十一23路十15(参赛十四1115);路十六23。有门可进(以复数表示-门):πύλαι ᾅδου 阴间的门(赛三八10太十六18(见πέτρα-SG4073一B和πύλη-SG4439一);其门被锁著-ἔχω τὰς κλεῖς τοῦ θανάτου καὶ τοῦ ᾅδου拿着死亡和阴间的钥匙,启一18(所有格可表对象或从属,后者乃将死亡和阴间人格化,见二)。ὠδῖνες τοῦ ᾅδου 阴间的痛苦(诗十八5)参徒二24异版。εἰς ᾅδου 到阴间徒二31异版。

In Biblical Greek it is associated with Orcus, the infernal regions,
a dark and dismal place in the very depths of the earth, the common
receptacle of disembodied spirits. Usually Hades is just the abode of
the wicked, Lu. 16:23, Rev. 20:13,14; a very uncomfortable place. TDNT.
