创造宇宙万有之主，何竟成人，来受咒诅；因祂立定律法要求，祂也亲自为人成就。
The Maker of the universe
As Man, for man was made a curse.
The claims of law which He had made,
Unto the uttermost He paid.

祂栽草木所长刺芒，竟成荆冕戴祂头上；祂备矿藏，利钉产出，竟然戳祂双手双足。
His holy fingers made the bough
Which grew the thorns that crowned His brow.
The nails that pierced His hands were mined
In secret places He designed.

祂叫树木茂盛生长，使祂身体得挂木上；看，那木架所立山丘，也是经祂命立而有。
He made the forest whence there sprung
The tree on which His body hung.
He died upon a cross of wood,
Yet made the hill on which it stood.

明亮穹苍是祂铺张，竟变昏暗在祂头上；祂使太阳如出洞房，那日竟然向祂掩藏。
The sky that darkened o'er His head
By Him above the earth was spread.
The sun that hid from Him its face
By His decree was poised in space.

祂的肋旁被枪所扎，流出宝血付人赎价；连那炼铁成枪的火，也是出于祂所造作。
The spear which spilled His precious blood
Was tempered in the fires of God.
The grave in which His form was laid,
Was hewn in rocks His hands had made.

救赎既成，祂享安宁在那石头凿成墓中；墓穴所处稳固石磐，岂不也是祂手所奠？
The throne on which He now appears
Was His from everlasting years,
But a new glory crowns His brow,
And every knee to Him shall bow.

祂今所登荣耀宝座，自古就是祂所安坐；但祂冠冕已添光芒，万口都当高歌颂扬。
