[KJV] And when Gideon1439 perceived7200(8799) that he was an angel4397 of the LORD3068, Gideon1439 said559(8799), Alas162, O Lord136 GOD3069! for because3651 I have seen7200(8804) an angel4397 of the LORD3068 face6440 to face6440.

[KJV] Then Gideon1439 built1129(8799) an altar4196 there unto the LORD3068, and called7121(8799) it Jehovahshalom3073: unto this day3117 it is yet in Ophrah6084 of the Abiezrites33. {Jehovahshalom: that is, The LORD send peace}

[KJV] Then Gideon1439 took3947(8799) ten6235 men582 of his servants5650, and did6213(8799) as the LORD3068 had said1696(8765) unto him: and so it was, because he feared3372(8804) his father's1 household1004, and the men582 of the city5892, that he could not do6213(8800) it by day3119, that he did6213(8799) it by night3915.

[KJV] And Gideon1439 said559(8799) unto God430, Let not thine anger639 be hot2734(8799) against me, and I will speak1696(8762) but this once6471: let me prove5254(8762), I pray thee, but this once6471 with the fleece1492; let it now be dry2721 only upon the fleece1492, and upon all the ground776 let there be dew2919.

[KJV] And the LORD3068 said559(8799) unto Gideon1439, The people5971 are yet too many7227; bring them down3381(8685) unto the water4325, and I will try6884(8799) them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say559(8799) unto thee, This shall go3212(8799) with thee, the same shall go3212(8799) with thee; and of whomsoever I say559(8799) unto thee, This shall not go3212(8799) with thee, the same shall not go3212(8799).

[和合本] 基甸就带他们5971下3381(8686)到413水4325旁。耶和华3068对413基甸1439说559(8799)：“凡3605用舌头90023956舔3952(8799)水44804325，像9003834狗3611舔3952(8799)的834，要使他853单9001905站3322(8686)在一处；凡3605跪下3766(8799){5921}{1290}喝90018354(8800)水的834，也要使他单站在一处。”
[KJV] So he brought down3381(8686) the people5971 unto the water4325: and the LORD3068 said559(8799) unto Gideon1439, Every one that lappeth3952(8799) of the water4325 with his tongue3956, as a dog3611 lappeth3952(8799), him shalt thou set3322(8686) by himself; likewise every one that boweth down3766(8799) upon his knees1290 to drink8354(8800).

[KJV] And the LORD3068 said559(8799) unto Gideon1439, By the three7969 hundred3967 men376 that lapped3952(8764) will I save3467(8686) you, and deliver5414(8804) the Midianites4080 into thine hand3027: and let all the other people5971 go3212(8799) every man376 unto his place4725.

[KJV] And his fellow7453 answered6030(8799) and said559(8799), This is nothing else save the sword2719 of Gideon1439 the son1121 of Joash3101, a man376 of Israel3478: for into his hand3027 hath God430 delivered5414(8804) Midian4080, and all the host4264.

[KJV] When I blow8628(8804) with a trumpet7782, I and all that are with me, then blow8628(8804) ye the trumpets7782 also on every side5439 of all the camp4264, and say559(8804), The sword of the LORD3068, and of Gideon1439.

[KJV] So Gideon1439, and the hundred3967 men376 that were with him, came935(8799) unto the outside7097 of the camp4264 in the beginning7218 of the middle8484 watch821; and they had but389 newly6965(8687) set6965(8689) the watch8104(8802): and they blew8628(8799) the trumpets7782, and brake5310(8800) the pitchers3537 that were in their hands3027.
