民13:25And they returned from searching out the land after forty days.

民13:26And they came, and went to Moses and to Aaron, and to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to the whole assembly; and shewed them the fruit of the land.

民13:27And they told him, and said, We came to the land to which thou didst send us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

民13:28Only, the people are strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, very great; moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

民13:29Amalek dwells in the land of the south; and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill-country; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the side of the Jordan.

民13:30And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up boldly and possess it, for we are well able to do it.

民13:31But the men that went up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.

民13:32And they brought to the children of Israel an evil report of the land which they had searched out, saying, The land, which we have passed through to search it out, is a land that eateth up its inhabitants; and all the people that we have seen in it are men of great stature;

民13:33and there have we seen giants -- the sons of Anak are of the giants -- and we were in our sight as grasshoppers, and so we were also in their sight.

民14:1And the whole assembly lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

民14:2And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron; and the whole assembly said to them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or in this wilderness would that we had died!

民14:3And why is Jehovah bringing us to this land that we may fall by the sword, that our wives and our little ones may become a prey? Is it not better for us to return to Egypt?

民14:4And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return to Egypt.

民14:5Then Moses and Aaron fell upon their faces before the whole congregation of the assembly of the children of Israel.

民14:6And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of them that searched out the land, rent their garments.

民14:7And they spoke to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it out, is a very, very good land.

民14:8If Jehovah delight in us, he will bring us into this land, and give it us, a land that flows with milk and honey;

民14:9only rebel not against Jehovah; and fear not the people of the land; for they shall be our food. Their defence is departed from them, and Jehovah is with us: fear them not.

民14:10And the whole assembly said that they should be stoned with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tent of meeting to all the children of Israel.

民14:11And Jehovah said to Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe me, for all the signs which I have done among them?
