MatthewChapter 7
1Do 2not judge, that you be not judged.
For 1with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you.
And why do you look at the splinter which is in your brother's eye, but the beam in your eye you do not 1consider?
Or how can you say to your brother, Let me remove the splinter from your eye, and behold, the beam is in your eye?
1Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your eye, and then you will 2see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.
Do not give 1that which is holy to the 2dogs, neither cast your 1pearls before the 2hogs, lest they trample them with their feet, and turn and tear you.
1Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.
For everyone who 1asks receives, and he who 2seeks finds, and to him who 3knocks it shall be opened.
Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks him for a loaf, will give him a stone?
Or also when he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, 1how much more will your Father who is in the heavens give 2good things to those who ask Him!
Therefore all that you wish men would do to you, so also you do to them; for this is the 1law and the prophets.
1Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that 2leads to 3destruction, and many are those who enter through it.
Because 1narrow is the gate and constricted is the way that leads to 2life, and few are those who find it.
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are 1ravenous wolves.
By their fruits you will recognize them. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Even so every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces bad fruit.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
So then, by their fruits you will recognize them.
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will 1enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who does the will of My Father who is in the heavens.
Many will say to Me in 1that day, Lord, Lord, was it not in Your name that we prophesied, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name did many works of power?
And then I will declare to them: I never 1knew you. Depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.
Every one therefore who hears these words of Mine and does them shall be likened to a prudent man who built his house upon the 1rock.
And the 1rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and they beat against that house; and it did 2not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the 1sand.
And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and they dashed against that house; and it 1fell, and its fall was great.
And when Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astounded at His teaching,
For He taught them as One having 1authority and not like their scribes.
MatthewChapter 8
And when He 1came down from the mountain, great crowds followed Him.
And behold, a 1leper, coming near, 2worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You can cleanse me.
And stretching out His hand, He 1touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed! And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus said to him, See that you tell no one; but go, 1show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
And when He entered into Capernaum, a 1centurion came to Him, beseeching Him
And saying, Lord, my servant is lying in the house paralyzed, terribly tormented.
And He said to him, I will come and heal him.
But the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not fit for You to enter under my roof; but only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
For I also am a man under 1authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.
Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who followed, Truly I say to you, 1With no one in Israel have I found such great faith.
But I say to you that many will come 1from the east and the west and will recline at table with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the 2kingdom of the heavens,
But the 1sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the 2outer darkness. In that place there will be the 3weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
And Jesus said to the centurion, Go. As you have believed, so be it done to you. And his servant was healed in that hour.
And Jesus, coming into Peter's house, saw 1his mother-in-law lying down and in a fever.
And He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served Him.
And when evening fell, they brought to Him 1many who were demon possessed, and He cast out the spirits with a word, and 1all those who were ill He healed,
So that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, 1“He Himself took away our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to 1depart to the other side.
And a scribe came near and said to Him, Teacher, I will 1follow You wherever You 2go.
And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of heaven have roosts, but the 1Son of Man has 2nowhere to lay His head.
And another of the disciples said to Him, Lord, permit me first to 1go and bury my father.
But Jesus said to him, Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own 1dead.
And when He stepped into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
And behold, there arose a great 1tempest in the sea, so that the boat was covered by the waves; but He was sleeping.
And they came near and roused Him, saying, Lord, save us; we are perishing!
And He said to them, Why are you cowardly, you of little 1faith? Then He arose and 2rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a 3great calm.
And the men marveled, saying, What kind of man is this that even the winds and the sea 1obey Him?
And when He came to the other side, into the region of the Gadarenes, two possessed by demons met Him, as they were coming out of the tombs, so exceedingly fierce that no one was able to pass by on that road.
And behold, they cried out, saying, 1What do we have to do with You, 2Son of God? Have You come here 3before the time to torment us?
Now there was, a good way off from them, a herd of many hogs feeding.
And the demons 1entreated Him, saying, If You cast us out, send us into the herd of hogs.
And He said to them, 1Go! And they came out and went into the hogs. And behold, the whole herd 2rushed down the steep slope into the sea, and they died in the waters.
And those who were feeding them fled and went away into the city and reported everything, including what had happened to those possessed by demons.
And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they entreated Him to 1depart from their borders.
MatthewChapter 9
And stepping into a boat, He crossed over and came to His 1own city.
And behold, they brought to Him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus, 1seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Take courage, child; your 2sins are forgiven.
And behold, some of the 1scribes said within themselves, This man 2blasphemes.
And Jesus, 1knowing their 2thoughts, said, Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts?
For which is 1easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, 2Rise and walk?
But that you may know that the Son of Man has 1authority on earth to forgive sins — then He said to the paralytic, Rise, 2take up your bed and 3go to your house.
And he 1rose and went away to his house.
And when the crowds saw this, they feared and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
And as Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man sitting at the tax office, called 1Matthew, and He said to him, 2Follow Me. And he rose and 3followed Him.
And as He was reclining at table in the 1house, behold, many 2tax collectors and sinners came and reclined together with Jesus and His disciples.
And when the 1Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, 2Why does your Teacher eat with the tax collectors and sinners?
Now when He heard this, He said, Those who are strong have no need of a 1physician, but those who are 2ill.
But go and 1learn what this means, “I desire 2mercy and not sacrifice,” for I did not come to call the 3righteous, but sinners.
Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, 1Why do we and the Pharisees 2fast 3much, but Your disciples do 4not fast?
And Jesus said to them, The 1sons of the bridechamber cannot mourn as long as the 2bridegroom is with them, can they? But days will come when the bridegroom will be 3taken away from them, and then they will fast.
No one puts a patch of 1unfulled cloth on an 2old garment, for that which fills it up pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.
Neither do they put 1new wine into 2old wineskins; otherwise, the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into 3fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
1As He was speaking these things to them, behold, a 2ruler came and worshipped Him, saying, My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.
And Jesus rose and followed him, and so did His disciples.
And behold, a woman who had been suffering from a 1hemorrhage for 2twelve years 3approached from behind and touched the 4fringe of His garment,
For she said within herself, If only I touch His garment, 1I will be 2healed.
And Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, Take courage, daughter; your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed from that hour.
And when Jesus came to the ruler's 1house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion,
He said, Depart, for the girl has not died but is sleeping. And they laughed scornfully at Him.
But when the 1crowd had been put out, He entered and took hold of her hand, and the girl 2rose up.
And this report went out into all that land.
And as Jesus passed on from there, two 1blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, Have mercy on us, 2Son of David!
And when He came into the 1house, the blind men came to Him; and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.
Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, let it be done to you.
And their 1eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them saying, See that no one knows!
But they went out and spread reports about Him in all that land.
And as they were going out, behold, they brought to Him a 1dumb man possessed with a demon.
And when the demon was cast out, the dumb man 1spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, Never has anything like this been seen in Israel.
But the Pharisees said, By the 1ruler of the demons He casts out the demons.
And Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the 1gospel of the kingdom and healing 2every disease and every sickness.
And seeing the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were 1harassed and cast away like 2sheep not having a shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples, The 1harvest is great, but the workers few;
Therefore 1beseech the 2Lord of the harvest that He would thrust out workers 3into His harvest.
