Second CorinthiansChapter 4
1Therefore having 2this ministry as we have been shown 3mercy, we do not lose heart;
But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor 1adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the 2truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.
And even if our gospel is 1veiled, it is veiled in those who are perishing,
In whom the 1god of this age has 2blinded the 3thoughts of the unbelievers that the 4illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, might not 5shine on them.
1For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as 2Lord, and ourselves as your 3slaves for Jesus' sake.
1Because the God who said, Out of darkness light shall shine, is the One who shined 2in 3our hearts to 4illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the 5face of Jesus Christ.
1But we have this 2treasure in earthen vessels that the 3excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us.
We are 1pressed on every side but not 2constricted; unable to find a way out but not utterly without a way out;
1Persecuted but not 2abandoned; 3cast down but not 4destroyed;
Always bearing about in the body the 1putting to death of Jesus 2that the 3life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
For we who are alive are always being delivered unto death for Jesus' sake that the life of 1Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal 2flesh.
So then death operates in us, but 1life in you.
And having the 1same 2spirit of faith according to that which is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,
Knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will 1raise us also with Jesus and will make us stand before Him with you.
For all things are for your sakes that the 1grace which has abounded through the greater number may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
Therefore we do not lose heart; but though our 1outer man is 2decaying, yet our 1inner man is being 3renewed day by day.
For our momentary lightness of 1affliction works out for us, 2more and more surpassingly, an 3eternal weight of 4glory,
Because we do not regard the 1things which are seen but the 2things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Second CorinthiansChapter 5
1For we know that if our 2earthly 3tabernacle dwelling is taken down, we have a 4building 5from God, a 6dwelling not made with hands, eternal, 7in the heavens.
For also in 1this we groan, longing to be 2clothed upon with our 3dwelling place 4from heaven,
If indeed, being clothed, we will not be found 1naked.
For also, we who are in this tabernacle groan, being 1burdened, 2in that we do not desire to be unclothed, but clothed upon, that 3what is mortal may be 4swallowed up by life.
Now He who has 1wrought us for this very thing is God, who has given to us the Spirit as a 2pledge.
Therefore being always of good courage and knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are 1abroad from the Lord
(For we 1walk by faith, not by 2appearance) —
We are of good courage then and are well pleased rather 1to be abroad from the body and at home with the Lord.
Therefore also we are 1determined, whether 2at home or abroad, to gain the honor of being well pleasing to Him.
1For we must all be manifested before the 2judgment seat of Christ, that each one may 3receive the things done 4through the body according to what he has practiced, whether good or 5bad.
1Knowing therefore the 2fear of the Lord, we 3persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; yet I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
We are not again commending ourselves to you, but so speak in order to give you an opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may 1have an answer for those who are boasting in outward 2appearance and not in 3heart.
For whether we were 1beside ourselves, it was to God; or whether we are 2sober-minded, it is for you.
For the 1love of Christ 2constrains us because we 3have judged this, that 4One died for all, 5therefore all died;
And He died for all that those who live may 1no longer live to themselves but 2to Him who died for them and has been raised.
1So then we, from now on, 2know no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we 2know Him so no longer.
1So then if anyone is 2in Christ, he is a 3new creation. The 4old things have passed away; 5behold, 6they have become new.
But 1all things are out from God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Namely, that God in Christ was reconciling the world to Himself, not accounting their offenses to them, and has put in us the 1word of reconciliation.
On behalf of Christ then we are 1ambassadors, as God entreats you through us; we beseech you on behalf of Christ, Be 2reconciled to God.
Him who did 1not know sin He made 2sin on our behalf that we might become the 3righteousness of God 4in Him.
Second CorinthiansChapter 6
1And working 2together with Him, we also 3entreat you not to receive the 4grace of God in vain;
For He says, “In an acceptable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the 1well-acceptable time; behold, now is the day of 2salvation.
1We give no occasion of stumbling in anything that the 2ministry may not be faulted,
But in everything we commend ourselves as ministers of God, in much 1endurance, in afflictions, in 2necessities, in distresses,
In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in 1watchings, in 2fastings;
In pureness, in 1knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in a holy 2spirit, in unfeigned 1love,
In the word of truth, in the power of God; through the 1weapons of righteousness 2on the right and on the left,
Through 1glory and dishonor, through 2evil report and good report; as 3deceivers and yet true;
As 1unknown and yet well known; as 2dying and yet behold we live; as 3being disciplined and yet not being put to death;
As 1made sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as 2poor yet enriching many; as 3having nothing and yet possessing all things.
Our mouth is opened to you, Corinthians; our heart is 1enlarged.
You are not constricted in us, but you are 1constricted in your 2inward parts.
But for a 1recompense in kind, I speak as to 2children, you also 3be enlarged.
1Do not become 2dissimilarly yoked with unbelievers. For what 3partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have 4with darkness?
And what concord does Christ have 1with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever?
And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the 1living God, even as God said, “I will dwell among them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”
Therefore “come out from their midst and be 1separated, says the Lord, and do not touch 2what is unclean; and I will 3welcome you”;
“And I will be 1a Father to you, and you will be 2sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.”
