RevelationChapter 17 And the angel said to me, Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast who bears her, who has the seven heads and the ten horns.
The 1beast that you saw was and is not and is about to come up out of the abyss and 2go into perdition. And those who dwell on the earth, those whose names are not written from the foundation of the world in the 3book of life, will marvel when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will be present.
And are 1seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain only a short time.
And the beast who was and is not, he himself is 1also the eighth and is out of the seven and goes into perdition.
And the ten horns which you saw are 1ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom but receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.
And he said to me, The 1waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues.
And the ten horns which you saw and the beast, these will 1hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked and will eat her flesh and burn her utterly with fire.
RevelationChapter 18 And I heard another voice out of heaven, saying, 1Come out of her, My people, that you do not participate in her sins and that you do not receive her plagues;
Pay her back even as she has paid, and 1double to her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.
As much as she has glorified herself and lived luxuriously, as much torment and sorrow give to her; for she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and I am not a widow, and I shall by no means see sorrow.
Therefore in one day her plagues will come, death and sorrow and famine, and she will be utterly 1burned with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning,
Standing afar off because of fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city, for in one hour your judgment has come!
And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargo anymore:
And the ripe fruits of your soul's lust have gone away from you, and all the sumptuous and splendid things have perished from you; and men will find them no more at all.
The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand afar off because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
Saying, Woe, woe, the great city, which was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold and precious stone and pearl;
For in one hour such great wealth has become desolate! And every ship captain and everyone sailing to a place and sailors and all who work on the sea stood afar off
And cried out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?
Be glad over her, O heaven and saints and apostles and prophets, because God has 1judged judgment for you upon her.
And a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, Thus will Babylon, the great city, be 1thrown down with violence and shall be found no more at all.
And the sound of harp-singers and musicians and flutists and trumpeters shall be heard no more at all in you, and no craftsman of any craft shall be found anymore at all in you, and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in you,
And the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in you, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more at all in you; for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for by your 1sorcery all the nations were deceived.
And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth.
RevelationChapter 19 After these things I heard as it were a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, 1Hallelujah! The salvation and the glory and the power are of our God.
And a second time they said, Hallelujah! And her smoke goes up forever and ever.
And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God, who sits upon the throne, saying, 1Amen, Hallelujah!
And a 1voice came out from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His slaves and those who fear Him, the small and the great.
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of 1many waters and like the sound of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
And I fell before his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do this. I am your fellow slave and a fellow slave of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the 1spirit of the prophecy.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come here; gather yourselves to the 1great dinner of God,
That you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of 1generals and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free and slave and small and great.
And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet, who in his presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were 1cast alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone.
And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeds out of the mouth of Him who sits on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
