First CorinthiansChapter 14 1For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one hears, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.
I desire that you all speak in tongues, but especially that you would prophesy; and greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, that the church may receive building up.
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what will I profit you, unless I speak to you either in revelation or in knowledge or in prophecy or in teaching?
For also if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle?
So also you, unless you give with the tongue a word easy to understand, how will what is being said be known? For you will be speaking into the air.
Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.
I thank God, I speak in tongues more than all of you,
So then tongues are for a 1sign, not to those who believe but to the unbelievers; but prophecy is for a sign not to the unbelievers but to those who believe.
PsalmsChapter 145 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is Jehovah, and much to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation will laud Your works to another,
And they will declare Your mighty acts. Upon the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And upon Your wondrous works I will muse. And men will speak of the might of Your awesome deeds,
And I will declare Your greatness. They will utter the memory of Your great goodness
And will sing for joy of Your righteousness. Jehovah is gracious and compassionate,
Long-suffering and great in lovingkindness. Jehovah is good to all,
And His compassions are upon all His works. All Your works will praise You, O Jehovah;
And Your faithful ones will bless You. They will speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And tell of Your power, Your kingdom is an eternal kingdom,
And Your dominion is throughout all generations. Jehovah upholds all who are falling
And raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of everyone wait for You,
And You give them their food in due season. You open up Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing. Jehovah is righteous in all His ways,
And faithfully kind in all His doings. Jehovah is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him,
And He will hear their cry and save them. My mouth will speak the praise of Jehovah,
And all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever. PsalmsChapter 146 I will praise Jehovah while I live;
I will sing psalms to my God while I yet have being. His breath goes forth; he returns to his earth;
On that day his plans perish. Blessed is the man whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in Jehovah his God, Who made heaven and earth
And the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever; Who executes judgment for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the famished. Jehovah frees the prisoners; Jehovah opens the eyes of the blind;
Jehovah raises up those who are bowed down; Jehovah loves the righteous; Jehovah preserves the sojourners;
He upholds the orphan and the widow; But He subverts the way of the wicked. PsalmsChapter 147 He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite. Sing unto Jehovah with thanksgiving;
Sing psalms to our God with the lyre; Who covers the heavens with clouds,
Who prepares rain for the earth, Who causes grass to grow on the mountains, Who gives to the beast its food,
And to the young ravens who cry. He takes no delight in the strength of horses;
Nor pleasure in the legs of man. Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
In those who hope in His lovingkindness. Laud Jehovah, O Jerusalem;
Praise your God, O Zion; For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;
He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders;
He satisfies you with the finest wheat. He sends forth His command to the earth;
His word runs very swiftly. He gives snow like wool;
He scatters frost like ashes; He casts His hail like crumbs —
Who can stand before His cold? He sends forth His word and melts them;
He causes His wind to blow; the waters flow. He declares His word to Jacob,
His statutes and His ordinances to Israel. He has not dealt so with any other nation;
And as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah! PsalmsChapter 148 Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts. Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all stars of light. Praise Him, you heaven of heavens,
And you waters that are above the heavens. Let them praise the name of Jehovah;
For He commanded, and they were created. And He established them forever and ever;
He gave the decree which shall not pass away. Praise Jehovah from the earth,
You sea monsters and all the depths; Fire and hail, snow and smoke;
Stormy wind that executes His word; Mountains and all hills;
Fruit trees and all cedars; Animals wild and tame;
Creeping things and birds of flight; Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth; Choice young men as well as virgins;
Old men with young men. Let them praise the name of Jehovah,
For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and the heavens. And He has raised up a horn for His people,
The praise of all His faithful ones, The children of Israel, a people near to Him. Hallelujah! PsalmsChapter 149 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker;
Let the children of Zion exult in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing;
Let them sing psalms to Him with the tambourine and the lyre. For Jehovah takes pleasure in His people;
He adorns the lowly with salvation. Let the faithful ones exult in glory;
Let them give a ringing shout upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats,
And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations
And punishment among the peoples; To bind their kings with fetters
And their nobles with chains of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written.
This honor is for all His faithful ones. Hallelujah! PsalmsChapter 150 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His vast greatness. Praise Him with the blast of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the harp and lyre; Praise Him with the tambourine and with dancing;
Praise Him with the stringed instrument and the pipe. Praise Him with the loud cymbals;
Praise Him with the loud clanging cymbals. |
