创31:47And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha, and Jacob called it Galeed.

创31:48And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed,

创31:49-- and Mizpah; for he said, Let Jehovah watch between me and thee, when we shall be hidden one from another:

创31:50if thou shouldest afflict my daughters, or if thou shouldest take wives besides my daughters, -- no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and thee!

创31:51And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold the pillar which I have set up between me and thee:

创31:52[let] this heap be witness, and the pillar a witness, that neither I pass this heap [to go] to thee, nor thou pass this heap and this pillar [to come] to me, for harm.

创31:53The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us! And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

创31:54And Jacob offered a sacrifice upon the mountain, and invited his brethren to eat bread: and they ate bread, and lodged on the mountain.

创31:55And Laban rose early in the morning, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them; and Laban went and returned to his place.

创32:1And Jacob went on his way; and the angels of God met him.

创32:2And when Jacob saw them he said, This is the camp of God. And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

创32:3And Jacob sent messengers before his face to Esau his brother, into the land of Seir, the fields of Edom.

创32:4And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak to my lord, to Esau: Thy servant Jacob speaks thus -- With Laban have I sojourned and tarried until now;

创32:5and I have oxen, and asses, sheep, and bondmen, and bondwomen; and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find favour in thine eyes.

创32:6And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother, to Esau; and he also is coming to meet thee, and four hundred men with him.

创32:7Then Jacob was greatly afraid, and was distressed; and he divided the people that were with him, and the sheep and the cattle and the camels, into two troops.

创32:8And he said, If Esau come to the one troop and smite it, then the other troop which is left shall escape.

创32:9And Jacob said, God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, Jehovah, who saidst unto me: Return into thy country and to thy kindred, and I will do thee good,

创32:10-- I am too small for all the loving-kindness and all the faithfulness that thou hast shewn unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I am become two troops.

创32:11Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and smite me, [and] the mother with the children.
