Subject:Christ Being Superior to Judaism and Everything Related to It, and the New Covenant Which He Consummated Being Better than the Old Covenant

HebrewsChapter 1
 1God, having spoken of old in  2many portions and in many ways to the fathers in the prophets,
Has at the  1last of these days spoken to us in the  2Son,  3whom He appointed  4Heir of all things, through whom also He made the  5universe;
Who, being the  1effulgence of His glory and the impress of His substance and upholding and bearing all things by the  2word of His power, having made  3purification of sins,  4sat down on the right hand of the  5Majesty on  6high;
Having become as much better than the angels as to have inherited a  1more distinguished name than they.
For to which of the angels has He ever said, “You are My Son;  1this day have I begotten You”? And again, “I will be a Father to Him, and He will be a Son to Me”?
And when He brings again the  1Firstborn into the inhabited earth, He says, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.”
And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels  1winds and His ministers a flame of fire”;
But of the Son, "Your throne,  1O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God,  1Your God, has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy above Your  2partners”;
And, "You in the beginning,  1Lord, laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands;
They will perish, but You remain perpetually; and they all will become old like a garment,
And like a mantle You will roll them up; like a garment they will also be changed; but You are the same, and Your years will not fail.”
But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand  1until I set Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet”?
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth for service for the sake of  1those who are to inherit salvation?
(The First Warning — Give Heed to What Is Spoken concerning the Son

HebrewsChapter 2
 1Therefore we ought to give heed more abundantly to the things which have been heard lest perhaps we  2drift away.
For if the word spoken through angels proved firm and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense,
How shall we  1escape if we have neglected so great a  2salvation, which, having had its beginning in being spoken by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who heard,
God bearing witness with them both by signs and wonders and by various works of power and by  1distributions of the Holy Spirit according to His will?
For it was not to angels that He subjected the coming  1inhabited earth, concerning which we speak.
But one has solemnly testified somewhere, saying,  1"What is man, that You bring him to mind? Or the son of man, that You care for him?
You have made Him  1a little inferior to the angels; You have crowned Him with glory and honor and have set Him over the works of Your hands;
You have subjected all things under His feet.” For in subjecting all things to Him, He left nothing unsubject to Him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to Him,
But we see Jesus, who was made a little  1inferior to the angels because of the suffering of death, crowned with  2glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death on behalf of  3everything.
For it was fitting for  1Him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in leading  2many sons into  3glory, to make the  4Author of their salvation  5perfect through sufferings.
For both  1He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all  2of One, for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,
Saying, “I will  1declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the  2church  3I will sing hymns of praise to You.”
And again, “I will trust in Him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children whom God has given to Me.”
Since therefore the children have shared in blood and flesh, He also Himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death He might  1destroy him who has the might of death, that is, the devil,
And might  1release those who because of the fear of death through all their life were held in slavery.
For assuredly it is not to angels that He gives help, but He  1gives help to the seed of Abraham.
Hence He should have been  1made like His brothers in all things that He might become a merciful and faithful  2High Priest in the  3things pertaining to God, to make  4propitiation for the sins of the people.
For being tempted in that which He Himself has suffered, He is able to help those who are being tempted.

HebrewsChapter 3
Therefore,  1holy brothers,  2partakers of a  3heavenly calling, consider the  4Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus,
Who was faithful to Him who constituted Him, as also Moses was in all His house.
For He has been counted worthy of more  1glory than Moses, by as much as He who  2built the house has more  1honor than  3the house.
For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
And Moses was faithful in all His house as a  1servant, for a  2testimony of the things to be spoken later;
But Christ was faithful as a Son over His house, whose  1house we are if indeed we hold fast the boldness and the boast of hope firm to the end.
(The Second Warning — Do Not Come Short of the Promised Rest

 1Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness,
Where your fathers tried Me by testing Me and saw My works for forty years.
Therefore I was displeased with this generation, and I said, They always  1go astray in their heart, and they have not known My  2ways;
As I swore in My wrath,  1They shall not enter into My rest!”
Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief in  1falling away from the living God.
But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called “today,” lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become  1partners of Christ, if indeed we hold fast the beginning of the assurance firm to the end,
While it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the provocation.”
For who provoked Him when they heard? Indeed was it not all who came out of Egypt by  1Moses?
And with whom was He displeased for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did He swear that they should not enter into His rest, except to the  1disobedient?
And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.
