Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
在希律王的日子，耶稣生在犹太的伯利恒。看哪，有星象家从东方来到耶路撒冷，说，

Saying, Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star at its rising and have come to worship Him.
那生为犹太人之王的在哪里？因为祂的星出现的时候，我们看见了，就前来拜祂。

And when Herod the king heard this, he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him.
希律王听见了，就惊慌不安，全耶路撒冷也同他一样。

And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
他就召集了所有的祭司长和民间的经学家，向他们查问，基督当生在何处。

And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written through the prophet:
他们对他说，在犹太的伯利恒，因为借着申言者所记的是这样：

“And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, by no means are you the least among the princes of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler, One who will shepherd My people Israel.”
“犹大地的伯利恒啊！你在犹大的首领中，绝不是最小的，因为有一位掌权者要从你出来，牧养我民以色列。”

Then Herod, secretly calling the magi, determined accurately from them the time that the star appeared.
当下，希律王暗暗地召了星象家来，向他们确查那星出现的时间，

And sending them to Bethlehem, he said, Go and find out accurately about the child. And when you find Him, report to me, so that I also may come and worship Him.
就差他们往伯利恒去，说，你们去详确地搜寻那孩子，寻到了，就报告我，我也好去拜祂。

And after they heard the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which they saw at its rising led them until it came and stood over the place where the child was.
他们听了王的话，就去了。看哪，他们曾看见它出现的那星，在他们前头领路，直领到那孩子那里，就在上头停住了。

And when they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
他们看见那星，就极其欢乐。

And they came into the house and saw the child with Mary His mother. And falling down, they worshipped Him; and opening their treasures, they offered gifts to Him, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
进了屋子，看见那孩子和祂母亲马利亚，就俯伏拜祂，揭开宝盒，向祂献上黄金、乳香和没药为礼物。

And because they had been divinely instructed in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed by another way to their country.
星象家既在梦中受神指示，不要回去见希律，就从别的路回本地去了。

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph, saying, Arise, take the child and His mother and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; for Herod is going to seek the child to destroy Him.
他们离开以后，看哪，有主的使者向约瑟梦中显现，说，起来，带着孩子和祂母亲逃往埃及，留在那里，等我吩咐你，因为希律要寻找孩子，好除灭祂。

And he arose and took the child and His mother by night and departed into Egypt,
约瑟就起来，趁夜带着孩子和祂母亲往埃及去，

And was there until the death of Herod, in order that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
留在那里，直到希律死了。这是要应验主借着申言者所说的，说，“我从埃及召出我的儿子来。”

Then Herod, seeing that he had been mocked by the magi, became greatly enraged, and sending out men, he did away with all the boys who were in Bethlehem and in all its borders from two years old and under, according to the time that he had accurately determined from the magi.
希律见自己为星象家所愚弄，就极其恼怒，差人将伯利恒城里，并四境所有的男孩，照着他从星象家所确查的时间，凡两岁以内的尽都除掉了。

At that time what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,
这就应验了那借着申言者耶利米所说的，说，

“A voice in Ramah was heard, weeping and great lamentation: Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be comforted, because they are no more.”
“在拉玛听见号啕大哭的声音，是拉结哭她的儿女，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。”

And when Herod had died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
希律死了以后，看哪，有主的使者在埃及向约瑟梦中显现，说，

Saying, Arise, take the child and His mother and go into the land of Israel, for those who seek the life of the child have died.
起来，带着孩子和祂母亲往以色列地去，因为寻索孩子性命的人已经死了。

And he arose and took the child and His mother and entered into the land of Israel.
约瑟就起来，带着孩子和祂母亲进入以色列地。

But because he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there; and having been divinely instructed in a dream, he departed into the regions of Galilee.
只因听见亚基老接替他父亲希律作了犹太王，就怕往那里去；又在梦中受到神的指示，就往加利利境内去了。

And he came and settled in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, He shall be called a Nazarene.
到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就定居在那里。这是要应验那借着众申言者所说的，祂必称为拿撒勒人。

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other animal of the field that Jehovah God had made. And he said to the woman, Did God really say, You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?
耶和华神所造的，惟有蛇比田野一切的活物更狡猾。蛇对女人说，神岂是真说，你们不可吃园中所有树上的果子么？

And the woman said to the serpent, Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;
女人对蛇说，园中树上的果子，我们可以吃；

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.
惟有园当中那棵树上的果子，神曾说，你们不可吃，也不可摸，免得你们死。

And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die!
蛇对女人说，你们不一定死；

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.
因为神知道，你们吃的日子眼睛就开了，你们便如神知道善恶。

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was to be desired to make oneself wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.
于是女人见那棵树的果子好作食物，也悦人的眼目，且是可喜爱的，能使人有智慧，就摘下果子来吃了，又给与她一起的丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。

And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
他们二人的眼睛就开了，才知道自己是赤身露体的；他们便拿无花果树的叶子，为自己编作裙子。

And they heard the sound of Jehovah God walking about in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Jehovah God among the trees of the garden.
天凉的时候，耶和华神在园中行走，那人和他妻子听见神的声音，就藏在园里的树木中，躲避耶和华神的面。

And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you?
耶和华神呼唤那人，对他说，你在哪里？

And he said, I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I am naked; so I hid myself.
他说，我在园中听见你的声音，我就害怕，因为我是赤身露体的；所以我藏了起来。

And He said, Who told you that you are naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?
耶和华神说，谁告诉你，你是赤身露体的呢？莫非你吃了我吩咐你不可吃的那树上的果子么？

And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate.
那人说，你所赐给我，与我一起的女人，她把那树上的果子给我，我就吃了。

And Jehovah God said to the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.
耶和华神对女人说，你作的是什么事？女人说，那蛇诱骗我，我就吃了。

And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, / You are cursed more than all the cattle / And more than all the animals of the field: / Upon your stomach you will go, / And dust you will eat / All the days of your life.
耶和华神对蛇说，你既作了这事，就必受咒诅，比一切的牲畜和田野的活物更甚。你必用肚子行走，终身吃土。

And I will put enmity / Between you and the woman / And between your seed and her seed; / He will bruise you on the head, / But you will bruise him on the heel.
我又要叫你和女人彼此为仇，你的后裔和女人的后裔也彼此为仇；女人的后裔要伤你的头，你要伤他的脚跟。

To the woman He said, I will greatly multiply / Your pain in your childbearing; / In pain you will bring forth children. / And your desire will be to your husband, / And he will rule over you.
又对女人说，我必多多加增你怀胎的苦楚，你生产儿女必受苦楚；你必恋慕你丈夫，你丈夫必管辖你。

And to Adam He said, Because you listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree concerning which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it; Cursed is the ground because of you; / In toil will you eat of it / All the days of your life.
又对亚当说，你既听妻子的话，吃了我所吩咐你不可吃的那树上的果子，地必因你的缘故受咒诅；你必终身劳苦，才能从地里得吃的。

And thorns and thistles will it bring forth for you, / And you will eat the herb of the field;
地必给你长出荆棘和蒺藜来，你也要吃田间的菜蔬。

By the sweat of your face / You will eat bread / Until you return to the ground, / Because from it you were taken; / For dust you are, / And to dust you shall return.
你必汗流满面才得糊口，直到你归了土，因为你是从土取出的；你本是尘土，仍要归于尘土。

And the man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
亚当给他妻子起名叫夏娃，因为她是众生之母。

And Jehovah God made coats of skin for Adam and for his wife and clothed them.
耶和华神为亚当和他妻子用皮子作衣服给他们穿。

And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat and live forever —
耶和华神说，那人已经与我们相似，知道善恶；现在恐怕他伸手又摘生命树的果子吃，就永远活着。

Then Jehovah God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to work the ground from which he was taken.
耶和华神便打发他出伊甸园去，耕种他所出自之土。

So He drove the man out, and at the east of the garden of Eden He placed the cherubim and a flaming sword which turned in every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.
于是把那人赶出去了；又在伊甸园的东边，安设基路伯和四面转动发火焰的剑，把守生命树的道路。

And the man knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain and said, I have acquired a man, Jehovah.
那人和他妻子夏娃同房，夏娃就怀孕，生了该隐；便说，我得了一个男子，耶和华。

And again she gave birth, to his brother Abel. And Abel was a tender of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
又生了该隐的弟弟亚伯。亚伯是牧羊的，该隐是耕地的。

And in the course of time Cain brought an offering to Jehovah from the fruit of the ground.
有一日，该隐从地里的出产拿供物献给耶和华；

And Abel also brought an offering, from the firstlings of his flock, that is, from their fat portions. And Jehovah had regard for Abel and for his offering.
亚伯也从他羊群中头生的，从羊的脂油拿供物献上。耶和华看中了亚伯和他的供物，

But for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. And Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell.
只是看不中该隐和他的供物。该隐就大大发怒，垂下脸来。

And Jehovah said to Cain, Why are you angry, and why has your countenance fallen?
耶和华对该隐说，你为什么发怒？你为什么垂下脸来？

If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and his desire is for you, but you must rule over him.
你若行得好，岂不仰起脸来么？你若行得不好，罪就伏在门前；他要恋慕你，但你必须管辖他。

And Cain said to Abel his brother, Let us go into the field. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him.
该隐对他弟弟亚伯说，我们往田间去吧。二人正在田间，该隐起来打他弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。

Then Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
耶和华对该隐说，你弟弟亚伯在哪里？他说，我不知道。我岂是看守我弟弟的么？

And He said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying out to Me from the ground.
耶和华说，你作了什么事？你弟弟的血有声音从地里向我哀告。

And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
地开了口，从你手里接受你弟弟的血；现在你必从这地受咒诅。

When you till the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.
你耕地，地不再给你效力；你必流离飘荡在地上。

And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
该隐对耶和华说，我的刑罚太重，过于我所能承担的。

Now You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground, and from Your face I will be hidden; and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.
你今日赶逐我离开这地面，以致我不得见你面；我必流离飘荡在地上，凡遇见我的必杀我。

And Jehovah said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah put a mark on Cain, so that anyone who found him would not strike him.
耶和华对他说，既是这样，凡杀该隐的，必遭报七倍。耶和华就在该隐身上作一个记号，免得人遇见就击杀他。

And Cain went forth from the presence of Jehovah and dwelt in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
于是该隐离开耶和华的面，去住在伊甸东边挪得之地。

And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city and called the name of the city after the name of his son Enoch.
该隐与妻子同房，他妻子就怀孕，生了以诺。该隐建造了一座城，并按着他儿子的名，将那城叫作以诺。

And Irad was born to Enoch, and Irad begot Mehujael, and Mehujael begot Methushael, and Methushael begot Lamech.
以诺生以拿，以拿生米户雅利，米户雅利生玛土撒利，玛土撒利生拉麦。

And Lamech took two wives for himself: The name of the first was Adah, and the name of the second Zillah.
拉麦娶了两个妻子，一个名叫亚大，另一个名叫洗拉。

And Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and raise cattle.
亚大生雅八；雅八是居住帐棚、牧养牲畜之人的始祖。

And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe.
雅八的兄弟名叫犹八；他是一切弹琴吹箫之人的始祖。

And Zillah also gave birth to Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of bronze and iron; and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
洗拉也生了土八该隐；他是打造各样铜铁利器的。土八该隐的妹妹是拿玛。

And Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, listen to my voice; / O wives of Lamech, hearken to my speech; / For I have slain a man for wounding me, / Even a young man for striking me.
拉麦对他的两个妻子说，亚大和洗拉，听我的声音；拉麦的妻子，听我的言语：壮年人伤我，我把他杀了；少年人打我，我把他害了。

If Cain is avenged sevenfold, / Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.
若杀该隐遭报七倍，杀拉麦必遭报七十七倍。

And Adam knew his wife again. And she gave birth to a son and called his name Seth, for, she said, God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain slew him.
亚当又与妻子同房；她就生了一个儿子，给他起名叫塞特，说，神给我另立了一个后裔代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。

And to Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.
塞特也生了一个儿子，起名叫以挪士。在那时候，人开始呼求耶和华的名。

This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created Adam, He made him in the likeness of God.
亚当的后代记在下面。当神创造亚当的日子，乃是按着祂的样式造的。

Male and female He created them, and He blessed them and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created.
神创造他们有男有女；在他们被创造的日子，神赐福给他们，称他们的名为亚当。

And Adam lived one hundred thirty years and begot a son in his likeness according to his image, and he called his name Seth.
亚当活到一百三十岁，生了一个儿子，样式和形像与自己相似，就给他起名叫塞特。

And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
亚当生塞特之后，又在世八百年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred thirty years, and he died.
亚当共活了九百三十岁就死了。

And Seth lived one hundred five years and begot Enosh.
塞特活到一百零五岁，生了以挪士。

And Seth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred seven years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
塞特生以挪士之后，又活了八百零七年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Seth were nine hundred twelve years, and he died.
塞特共活了九百一十二岁就死了。

And Enosh lived ninety years and begot Kenan.
以挪士活到九十岁，生了该南。

And Enosh lived after he had begotten Kenan eight hundred fifteen years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
以挪士生该南之后，又活了八百一十五年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred five years, and he died.
以挪士共活了九百零五岁就死了。

And Kenan lived seventy years and begot Mahalalel.
该南活到七十岁，生了玛勒列。

And Kenan lived after he had begotten Mahalalel eight hundred forty years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
该南生玛勒列之后，又活了八百四十年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred ten years, and he died.
该南共活了九百一十岁就死了。

And Mahalalel lived sixty-five years and begot Jared.
玛勒列活到六十五岁，生了雅列。

And Mahalalel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred thirty years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
玛勒列生雅列之后，又活了八百三十年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety-five years, and he died.
玛勒列共活了八百九十五岁就死了。

And Jared lived a hundred sixty-two years and begot Enoch.
雅列活到一百六十二岁，生了以诺。

And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
雅列生以诺之后，又活了八百年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty-two years, and he died.
雅列共活了九百六十二岁就死了。

And Enoch lived sixty-five years and begot Methuselah.
以诺活到六十五岁，生了玛土撒拉。

And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methuselah three hundred years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
以诺生玛土撒拉之后，与神同行三百年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years.
以诺共活了三百六十五岁。

And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
以诺与神同行，神将他取去，他就不在世了。

And Methuselah lived one hundred eighty-seven years and begot Lamech.
玛土撒拉活到一百八十七岁，生了拉麦。

And Methuselah lived after he had begotten Lamech seven hundred eighty-two years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
玛土撒拉生拉麦之后，又活了七百八十二年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty-nine years, and he died.
玛土撒拉共活了九百六十九岁就死了。

And Lamech lived a hundred eighty-two years and begot a son.
拉麦活到一百八十二岁，生了一个儿子，

And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands, which come because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.
给他起名叫挪亚，说，这个儿子必为我们的操作和手中的劳苦，安慰我们；这操作与劳苦是因为地受了耶和华的咒诅。

And Lamech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred ninety-five years, and he begot more sons and daughters.
拉麦生挪亚之后，又活了五百九十五年，并且生儿生女。

And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy-seven years, and he died.
拉麦共活了七百七十七岁就死了。

And Noah was five hundred years old. And Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
挪亚五百岁，生了闪、含、雅弗。
