And having been brought safely through, we recognized then that the island was called Malta.
我们既已安全得救，才认出那岛名叫米利大。

And the natives showed us uncommon kindness, for they kindled a fire and took us all in because of the rain coming on and because of the cold.
土人待我们有非常的情分，因为当时下着雨，天气又冷，就生火接待我们众人。

But when Paul had collected a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened onto his hand.
那时，保罗拾起一捆柴放在火上，有一条毒蛇因热出来，缠住他的手。

And when the natives saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to one another, Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, whom, though he has been brought safely out of the sea, Justice has not allowed to live.
土人看见那毒蛇悬在他手上，就彼此说，这人必是个凶手，虽然从海里安全得救，公理还不容他活着。

However he shook off the snake into the fire and suffered no harm;
保罗竟把那毒蛇甩在火里，并没有受伤。

And they expected that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But when they had waited for a long time and beheld nothing unusual happening to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.
土人等着看他肿起来，或是忽然仆倒死了，但等了多时，见他无事，就转念说，他是个神。

Now in the vicinity of that place were the lands of the leading man of the island, named Publius, who welcomed us and gave us hospitality three days in a friendly way.
那地附近有些田产是岛长的，这人名叫部百流，他接纳我们，亲切地款待了三天。

And the father of Publius was lying down sick with fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him, and having prayed and laid his hands on him, healed him.
当时，部百流的父亲患热病和痢疾躺着，保罗进到他那里，祷告并按手在他身上，医好了他。

And when this happened, the rest also in the island who had sicknesses came to him and were healed.
这样一来，岛上其余的病人也来得了医治。

They also honored us with many honors; and as we put out to sea, they put on board the things for our needs.
他们又多方地尊敬我们，到了开船的时候，还给我们放上所需用的。

Then Job answered and said,
约伯回答说，

Today also my complaint is bitter; / My stroke is heavy because of my groaning.
今日我的哀诉还是悲苦；我虽唉哼，所受的责打仍然沉重。

Oh that I knew where I might find Him, / That I might come to His seat!
惟愿我知道在那里可以寻见神，使我可以到祂的座前！

I would present my cause in order before Him, / And I would fill my mouth with arguments.
我要在祂面前将我的案件陈明，满口辩白。

I would know the words which He would answer me, / And I would understand what He would speak to me.
我必知道祂回答我的言语，明白祂向我所说的话。

Would He contend with me in the greatness of His power? / No; but He would give heed to me.
祂岂用大能与我争辩么？必不这样，祂必理会我。

There the upright man can argue with Him; / So I would be delivered forever from my Judge.
在祂那里，正直人可以与祂辩论；这样，我必永远脱离那审判我的。

Behold, I go forward, but He is not there; / And backward, but I do not perceive Him;
看哪，我往前行，祂不在那里；往后走，也看不见祂；

To the left, where He acts, but I cannot look on Him; / He hides Himself on the right, so I cannot see Him.
往左边，祂在那里行事，我不能看到；祂在右边隐藏，我也不能见祂。

But He knows the way that I take; / Should He try me, I would come forth as gold.
然而祂知道我所行的路；祂试炼我之后，我必显出如金子。

My foot has held fast to His steps; / I have kept His way and have not turned aside.
我脚紧随祂的步履；我谨守祂的道路，并不偏离。

As for the commandment of His lips, I have not turned back from it; / I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my apportioned food.
祂嘴唇的命令，我未曾离弃；我珍藏祂口中的言语，过于派定给我的饮食。

But He is of one mind, and who can turn Him? / And what His soul desires, that will He do.
只是祂的心意始终如一，谁能使祂转意呢？祂魂里所愿的，就行出来。

For He performs what has been appointed to me, / And many such things are with Him.
祂向我所派定的，祂必作成；这类的事，祂还有许多。

Therefore I am terrified at His presence; / I consider and am in dread of Him.
所以我在祂面前惊惶；我思念这事，便惧怕祂。

So God has made my heart faint, / And the Almighty has terrified me;
神使我心怯，全能者使我惊惶；

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, / Nor did He cover the deep darkness from my face.
因为我虽面临黑暗，却没有被剪除，祂没有使我的脸遮蔽不见幽暗。

Why are times of judgment not stored up by the Almighty? / And why do those who know Him not see His days?
全能者为何不把审判的定期贮藏起来？为何认识祂的人看不见祂的日子？

Some remove landmarks; / They seize the flock and pasture them.
有人挪移地界，抢夺群畜而牧养。

They drive away the donkey of the fatherless / And take the widow's ox as a pledge.
他们把孤儿的驴赶去，强取寡妇的牛作抵押。

They turn the needy out of the way; / The poor of the land are made to hide together.
他们使穷人离开所行的路；地上的困苦人尽都隐藏。

Indeed, like wild asses in the desert, / They go forth to their work, / Diligently seeking some prey; / The wilderness provides them food for their children.
看哪，这些穷苦人出去工作，如同旷野的野驴，殷勤寻找猎物；野地供给他们食物，给他们的儿女糊口。

In the field they harvest their fodder, / And they glean the vintage of the wicked.
他们在田间收割禾稼作草料，摘取恶人余剩的葡萄。

They spend the night naked, without clothing; / And have no covering in the cold.
他们过夜赤身无衣，在寒冷中毫无遮盖；

They are wet from the mountain showers, / And for lack of shelter they embrace the rock.
在山上被大雨淋湿；因没有避身之处就紧挨着磐石。

Some pluck the fatherless from the breast, / And what the poor has on, as a pledge.
有人从母怀中抢夺孤儿，强取穷人身上之物作抵押。

They go about naked, without clothing; / And being hungry, they take up the sheaves.
穷人赤身无衣，到处流浪；且在饥饿中扛抬禾捆。

Between their walls they press out oil; / They tread the winepresses yet suffer thirst.
在那些人的围墙内榨油，踹酒醡，自己却口渴。

From the city men groan, / And the soul of the wounded cries out; / Yet God does not regard the folly.
有人从城内唉哼，受伤者的魂呼求；神却不理会恶人的愚妄。

These are among those who rebel against the light; / They are not acquainted with its ways, / Nor do they abide in its paths.
又有人背弃光，不晓得光的道路，不留在光的路上。

The murderer rises at dawn; / He kills the poor and the needy; / And at night he is like a thief.
杀人者黎明起来，杀害困苦人与穷乏人；夜间又像盗贼。

The eye of the adulterer also watches for the twilight, / Saying, Not an eye will see me; / And he disguises his face.
奸夫的眼目守候到黄昏，说，必无眼能见我；他就把脸蒙蔽。

They dig through houses in the dark; / By day they shut themselves in: / They do not know the light.
盗贼黑夜挖穿房屋，白日把自己关起来，并不认识光。

For morning is to all of them like the shadow of death, / Because they are acquainted with the terrors of the shadow of death.
早晨对他们如同死荫，因为他们晓得死荫的惊骇。

Swift are they upon the face of the waters; / Their portion is cursed in the earth; / There is none who turns toward the vineyards.
他们在水面上快快漂去；他们所得的分在地上被咒诅；他们没有一人再走葡萄园的路。

Drought and heat snatch the snow water, / As Sheol snatches those who have sinned.
干旱炎热消没雪水，阴间也如此消没犯罪之辈。

The womb forgets him; / The worm finds him sweet; / He is remembered no more; / And wrongdoing is broken like a tree.
怀他的母要忘记他；虫子要以他为甘甜；他不再被人记念；不义的人必如树折断。

He despoils the barren woman who does not bear, / And does no good for the widow.
他抢夺不怀孕不生育的妇人，又不善待寡妇。

But God preserves the mighty by His power; / He arises, and no one is certain of life.
然而神用能力保全有权势的人；祂兴起，他们就难保性命。

He grants a man to be secure, and he rests on it; / And His eyes are upon their ways.
神使他们安稳，他们就有所倚靠；神的眼目也察看他们的道路。

They are exalted a little while, then they are no more; / And they are brought low; like all others, they are gathered in / And are cut off like the tops of the ears of grain.
他们被高举不过片时，就没有了；他们被降为卑，与众人一样被收聚，且如穗头被割下。

And if it is not so, then who will prove me a liar / And bring my words to nought?
若不是这样，谁能证实我是说谎的，使我的言语成空呢？

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
书亚人比勒达回答说，

Dominion and dread are with Him; / He makes peace in His high places.
神有治理之权，威严可畏；祂在高处施行和平。

Is there any number to His armies? / And upon whom does His light not arise?
祂的众军，岂能数算？祂的光一发，谁不蒙照呢？

How then can a man be righteous with God? / And how can one born of a woman be pure?
这样，在神面前人怎能成为义的？妇人所生的怎能是洁净的？

Indeed, even the moon has no brightness, / And the stars are not pure in His eyes.
看哪，在神眼前，月亮也无光亮，星宿也不纯洁；

How much less a man, a maggot; / And the son of man, a worm!
何况如虫的人，如蛆的世人呢！
