What then? Are we better? Not at all! For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin,
这却怎么样？我们比他们强么？绝对没有！因我们已经指控，犹太人和希利尼人都在罪之下，

Even as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one;
就如经上所记：“没有义人，连一个也没有，

There is none who understands, there is none who seeks out God.
没有明白的，没有寻求神的；

All have turned aside; together they have become useless; there is none who does good; there is not so much as one.
都是偏离正路，一同变为无用；没有行善的，连一个也没有。

Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips;
他们的喉咙是敞开的坟墓，他们用舌头弄诡诈，嘴唇里有虺蛇的毒气，

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
他们满口是咒骂苦毒；

Swift are their feet to shed blood,
杀人流血，他们的脚飞跑，

Destruction and misery are in their ways,
在他们所经过的路上，遍行毁坏和祸害，

And the way of peace they have not known.
平安的路，他们未曾知道；

There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
他们眼中不怕神。”

Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may fall under the judgment of God;
我们晓得律法上的话，都是对律法以下之人说的，好堵住各人的口，叫普世的人都伏在神的审判之下。

Because out of the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before Him; for through the law is the clear knowledge of sin.
因为凡属肉体的人，都不能本于行律法在神面前得称义，因为律法本是叫人知罪。

Behold now the behemoth, which I made as well as you: / He eats grass like the ox.
你且观看河马，我造你也造它；它吃草与牛一样。

Behold now, his strength is in his loins, / And his power is in the muscles of his belly.
看哪，它的力量在腰间，能力在肚腹的肌肉上。

He bends his tail like a cedar; / The sinews of his thighs knit together.
它摇动尾巴如香柏树；它大腿的筋互相联结。

His bones are like bronze tubes; / His limbs, like iron bars.
它的骨头好像铜管；它的肢体仿佛铁棍。

He is the first of God's ways; / Only his Maker can approach him with His sword.
它在神的造物中为首；惟有造它的能拿刀剑靠近它。

For the mountains yield food for him, / Where every animal of the field plays.
诸山给它出产食物，田野百兽也在那里游玩。

Under the lotus plants he lies down, / In the covert of the reed and the marsh.
它伏在莲叶之下，卧在芦苇隐密处和沼泽里。

The lotus plants cover him with their shade; / The willows of the brook surround him.
莲叶的阴影遮蔽它，溪旁的柳树环绕它。

Indeed, if a river overflows, he does not tremble; / He is confident, though the Jordan rushes against his mouth.
看哪，河水泛滥，它不战抖；就是约但河的水冲到它口边，它也是安然。

Will anyone catch him while he is watching, / Or pierce his nose with a snare?
在它警觉的时候，谁能捉拿它，或用钩子穿它的鼻子呢？

Can you draw out leviathan with a hook, / Or press down his tongue with a cord?
你能用鱼钩钓上鳄鱼，或用绳子压下它的舌头么？

Can you put a rope in his nose, / Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
你能用绳索穿它的鼻子，或用钩穿它的腮骨么？

Will he make many supplications unto you, / Or speak soft words to you?
它岂向你连连恳求，或说柔和的话么？

Will he make a covenant with you / That you would take him as a servant forever?
它岂肯与你立约，使你拿它永远作奴仆么？

Will you play with him as with a bird, / Or bind him for your maidens?
你岂可拿它当雀鸟玩耍，或为你的幼女将它拴住么？

Will the traders bargain over him? / Will they divide him up among merchants?
搭伙的渔夫，岂可拿它当货物买卖么？岂能把它分给商人么？

Can you fill his skin with harpoons, / Or his head with fishing spears?
你能用倒钩枪扎满它的皮，或用鱼叉叉满它的头么？

Lay your hand on him, / And remember the battle — you will never do it again!
你按手在它身上，想起与它的争战──你绝不再这样行了！

Indeed, any hope for him is vain; / Will not one be even cast down at the sight of him?
看哪，人指望捉拿它，是徒然的；一见它，岂不惊倒么？

No one is so fierce as to stir him up; / Who then is he who would stand before Me?
没有那么凶猛的人敢惹它；这样，谁能在我面前站立得住？

Who has first given to Me that I should repay him? / Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.
谁曾先给了我，使我后来偿还？普天之下，万物都是我的。

I will not be silent about his limbs / Or about the account of his mighty deeds or about the beauty of his frame.
论到鳄鱼的肢体，和其大力，并美好的体格，我不能缄默不言。

Who can strip off his outer garment? / Who can go within his double jaws?
谁能剥掉它的外衣？谁能进它双颚之间？

Who can open the doors of his face? / Around his teeth is terror.
谁能开它的腮颊？它牙齿的四围是可畏的。

His pride is his rows of scales, / Shut up as with a tight seal.
它以成排的鳞甲为可夸，紧紧合闭，封得严密。

One is so near the other / That the air cannot pass between them.
这鳞甲一一相连，气也不得透入其间；

Each is joined to the other; / They stick together and cannot be separated.
都是互相联络，胶结不能分离。

His sneezes flash forth light, / And his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn.
它打喷嚏，就发出光来；它眼睛好像黎明的光线；

Out of his mouth go forth flaming torches; / Sparks of fire leap out.
从它口中发出烧着的火把，有火星飞迸而出。

Out of his nostrils comes smoke, / As from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
从它鼻孔冒出烟来，如烧开的锅，和点着的灯心草。

His breath kindles coals, / And a flame comes from his mouth.
它的气点着煤炭，有火焰从它口中发出。

In his neck abides strength, / And terror dances before him.
它颈项中存着劲力，在它面前的都惊恐蹦跳。

The folds of his flesh are joined together; / They are firm upon him and immovable.
它下垂的肉块互相联络，紧贴其身，不能摇动。

His heart is as firm as stone, / Indeed as firm as the lower millstone.
它的心结实如石头，如下磨石那样结实。

At his rising up, the mighty fear; / They are beside themselves with consternation.
它一起来，勇士都惊恐；因着惊愕，便都昏乱。

The sword that reaches him cannot avail, / Nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin.
刀剑扎上它，全都无用，枪、标枪、尖枪也都无效。

He considers iron shafts as straw, / And bronze ones as rotted wood.
它以铁为干草，以铜为烂木。

The arrow does not make him flee; / With him slingstones turn to stubble.
箭不能使它逃避；弹石打在它身上就变成碎秸。

Clubs are considered as stubble; / He laughs at the quivering javelin.
棍棒算如禾秸；它嗤笑短枪飕的响声。

His underparts are like sharp potsherds; / He spreads himself like a threshing sledge upon the mire.
它肚腹下如尖瓦片；它如钉耙碾过淤泥。

He makes the deep boil like a cauldron; / He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
它使深渊开滚如锅，使洋海如锅中沸腾的膏油。

Behind him he makes a shining wake; / One would think the deep to be white-haired.
它使行过的路发光，令人把深渊当作白发老人。

On earth there is none his equal, / Who is made without fear.
在地上没有一样能与它相比，它受造无所惧怕。

He beholds everything that is high; / He is king over all the sons of pride.
凡高大的，它都观看而不惧怕；它在一切骄傲的水族以上作王。

Then Job answered Jehovah and said,
约伯回答耶和华说，

I know that You can do all things / And that no purpose of Yours can be restrained.
我知道你万事都能作，你的定旨是不能拦阻的。

Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge? / Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, / Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
谁用无知的言语，使你的旨意隐藏呢？故此我说了我所不明白的；这些事对我太奇妙，是我不知道的。

Hear now, and I will speak; / I will ask of You, and You shall inform me.
求你听我，我要说话；我要问你，求你指示我。

I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, / But now my eye has seen You;
我从前风闻有你，现在亲眼看见你。

Therefore I abhor myself, and I repent / In dust and ashes.
因此我厌恶自己，在尘土和炉灰中懊悔。

And after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My anger is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken concerning Me that which is right, as My servant Job has.
耶和华对约伯说了这些话以后，就对提幔人以利法说，我的怒气向你和你两个朋友发作，因为你们议论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的是。

Now therefore take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And My servant Job will pray for you; for I will accept him, so that I do not deal with you according to your folly; for you have not spoken concerning Me that which is right, as My servant Job has.
现在你们要取七只公牛，七只公羊，到我仆人约伯那里去，为自己献上燔祭。我的仆人约伯要为你们祷告；我因悦纳他，就不按你们的愚妄办你们；你们议论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的是。

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as Jehovah told them; and Jehovah accepted Job.
于是提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达、拿玛人琐法，照着耶和华所吩咐的去行，耶和华就悦纳约伯。

And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.
约伯为他的朋友祷告，耶和华就使约伯从苦境转回，并且耶和华赐给他的，比他从前所有的加倍。

And all his brothers and all his sisters and all his previous acquaintances came to him and ate bread with him in his house. And they consoled and comforted him for all the misfortune that Jehovah had brought upon him. And each gave to him a piece of money, and each, a gold ring.
约伯所有的兄弟姊妹，和以先所认识的人都来见他，在他家里与他一同吃饭。因耶和华所降与他的一切灾祸，他们都为他悲伤，安慰他。每人也送他一块银子，和一个金环。

Thus Jehovah blessed Job's latter end more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand female donkeys.
这样，耶和华后来赐福给约伯，比起先更多；他有一万四千只羊，六千只骆驼，一千对牛，一千匹母驴。

And he had seven sons and three daughters.
他也有七个儿子，三个女儿。

And he named the first Jemimah, and the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
他给长女起名叫耶米玛，次女叫基洗亚，三女叫基连哈朴。

And in all the land no women were found as beautiful as the daughters of Job. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
在那全地，找不着像约伯的女儿那样美貌的妇女。她们的父亲使她们在弟兄中得产业。

And after this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; and he saw his children and his grandchildren, even four generations.
此后，约伯又活了一百四十年，得见他的儿孙，直到四代。

And Job died, old and full of days.
这样，约伯年纪老迈，日子满足而死。
