Scripture Reading: Eph. 1:19-23; Heb. 7:25; 8:2; Psa. 110:1-4
Ⅰ
The heave offering, an offering heaved up before the Lord, typifies Christ in ascension and exaltation, the One who is "far above all"—Exo. 29:27; Lev. 7:14, 32; Eph. 1:21.
Ⅱ
In His ascension Christ was given to be Head over all things to the church—vv. 22-23:
A
We need to see the surpassing greatness of the power that operated in Christ to raise Him from Hades through the earth, through the air, and through the third heaven to the top of the universe, in order that He might transmit all that He has accomplished, obtained, and attained into the church, His Body—vv. 19-23; Heb. 4:14; 7:26.
B
Toward us who believe (Eph. 1:19) and to the church (vv. 22b-23) indicate that the divine power, which includes all that the Triune God has passed through, has been installed into us once for all and is being transmitted into us continually from the ascended Christ, causing us to enjoy Christ richly and to have the proper church life as His Body, His fullness:
1
There are four aspects of the power that operated in Christ: resurrection power (v. 20a), ascending power (v. 20b), subjecting power (v. 22a), and heading-up power (v. 22b); this fourfold power is transmitted to the church, the Body of the Head.
2
In order to live in ascension, enjoying the divine transmission from the ascended Christ, we have to live in our spirit, discerning our spirit from our soul—Heb. 4:12; 2 Tim. 4:22; John 1:51; Psa. 91:1, 14.
3
We need to daily be strengthened into our inner man with the power that raised Christ from the dead, seated Christ at the right hand of God in the heavenlies, subjected all things under Christ's feet, and gave Christ to be the Head over all things to the church—Eph. 3:16.
4
In order to participate in the transmitting of the transcending Christ, we must know, must use, and must exercise our spirit; this is why our spirit mingled with the Spirit is mentioned six times in the book of Ephesians— 1:17; 2:22; 3:5; 4:23; 5:18; 6:18.
Ⅲ
In His ascension Christ was made a great High Priest according to the order of Melchisdec—Heb. 5:6, 10; Psa. 110:1-4:
A
In His heavenly ministry in ascension, Christ is caring for God's desire, cherishing the churches in His humanity and nourishing the churches in His divinity with His divine love for the building up of the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem—Rev. 1:12-13; 2:1.
B
In His heavenly ministry in ascension, Christ is bearing us in the presence of God and caring for all our needs according to God's desire—Heb. 2:17-18; 4:14-16; cf. Exo. 28:9-10, 12, 21, 29.
C
We need to be one with the ascended Christ in His heavenly ministry:
1
We need to present ourselves as freewill offerings to our ascended Lord in the splendor of consecration—Psa. 110:3; Matt. 26:6-13.
2
We need to be the Lord's young men who are like the dew to Him from the womb of the dawn—Psa. 110:3:
a
We need to keep ourselves empty, open, fresh, new, living, and young with the Lord for His new move—Matt. 5:3; Psa. 8:2.
b
We need to rise up early in the morning to contact the Lord so that we may enter into the womb of the dawn to be conceived as the dew for Christ's watering—Psa. 119:147-148; Lam. 3:22-23; Prov. 4:18.
3
We need to fight for the saints by interceding for them and ministering God into them—Heb. 7:25; 8:2; Gen. 14:18-20; Acts 6:4; 1 John 5:16.
Ⅳ
The New Jerusalem is the consummation of Christ's work in His ascension—Eph. 1:10, 22; cf. Rev. 22:1.
