Subject:Prohibition against Participation in Heresy
Chapter 1
The 1elder to the chosen 2lady and to her children, whom I love in 3truthfulness, and not only I but also all 4those who know the 5truth,
1For the sake of the 2truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:
Grace, mercy, peace will be with 1us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in 2truth and love.
I 1rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in 2truth, even as we received 3commandment from the Father.
And now I ask you, lady, not as writing a new commandment to you but 1that which we have had 2from the beginning, that we love one another.
And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you walk in 1love.
For many 1deceivers went out into the world, those who 2do not confess Jesus Christ coming 3in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the 4antichrist.
1Look to yourselves that you do not 2lose the 3things which we wrought, but that you may receive a full 4reward.
Everyone who 1goes beyond and does not abide in the 2teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching, he 3has both the Father and the Son.
If anyone comes to you and does not 1bring this teaching, do not receive 2him into your house, and do not say to him, 3Rejoice!
For he who says to him, Rejoice, shares in his 1evil works.
Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink, but I am 1hoping to be with you and to speak 2face to face that 3our joy may be made full.
The 1children of your chosen 2sister greet you.
Subject:Encouragement to the Fellow Workers in the Truth
Chapter 1
The 1elder to 2Gaius the beloved, whom I love in 3truthfulness.
Beloved, concerning 1all things I 2wish that you may 3prosper and be in 4health, even as your 5soul 3prospers.
For I 1rejoiced greatly at the brothers' coming and testifying to 2your steadfastness in the truth, even as you 3walk in 4truth.
I have no greater joy than these things, that I hear that my children are walking in the truth.
Beloved, you do faithfully in 1whatever you have wrought for the brothers, and this for 2strangers,
Who testified to your 1love before the 2church; whom you 3will do well to send forward in a manner 4worthy of God;
For on behalf of the 1Name they went out, taking nothing from the 2Gentiles.
We therefore ought to 1support such ones that we may become fellow workers in the 2truth.
I wrote something to the 1church; but 2Diotrephes, who loves 3to be first among them, does not 4receive us.
For this reason, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his works which he does, 1babbling against us with 2evil words; and not being satisfied with these, neither does he himself receive the brothers, and those intending to do so he forbids and casts out of the church.
Beloved, do not imitate the 1evil, but the good. He who 2does good is 3of God; he who 4does evil has 5not seen God.
To 1Demetrius testimony has been borne by 2all and by the 3truth itself; and 4we also testify, and you know that our testimony is 5true.
I had many things to write to you, but I do not want to write to you with ink and pen;
But I 1hope to see you shortly, and we will speak 2face to face.
Peace to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
Subject:Contending for the Faith
JudeChapter 1
Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of 1James, to those who are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept 2by Jesus Christ:
1Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.
Beloved, while using all diligence to write to you concerning our 1common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you and exhort you to earnestly 2contend for the 3faith once for all delivered to the saints.
1For certain men have 2crept in unnoticed, who of old have been 3written of beforehand for 4this judgment, ungodly men, 5perverting the grace of our God into 6licentiousness and 5denying 7our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
But I intend to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that 1the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, 2afterward 3destroyed those who did not believe;
And angels who did not keep their own 1principality but abandoned their 2own dwelling place, He has kept in eternal bonds under 3gloom for the 4judgment of the great day;
How Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, who 1in like manner with these gave themselves over to fornication and went after different flesh, are set forth as an example, undergoing the penalty of eternal fire.
Nevertheless in like manner 1these dreamers also defile the flesh and despise 2lordship and revile 3dignities.
But 1Michael the archangel, when he contended with the devil and disputed concerning the 2body of Moses, 3did not dare to bring a reviling judgment against him but said, The Lord rebuke you.
But 1these revile the things that they do not 2know; and the things that they 2understand 3naturally, like 4animals 5without reason, 6in these they are being 7corrupted.
Woe to them! For they have gone in the 1way of Cain and have 2rushed out in the 3error of Balaam for reward and have 4perished in the 5rebellion of Korah.
These are the 1hidden reefs in your 2love feasts, feasting together with you without fear, 3shepherding themselves; 4waterless clouds being carried off by winds; 5autumn trees without fruit, having died twice, rooted up;
1Wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shames; 2wandering stars, for whom the gloom of darkness is kept for eternity.
And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied also of these, saying, Behold, the Lord 1came 2with 3myriads of His saints
To execute 1judgment against all and to convict all the ungodly concerning all their ungodly works which they have done in ungodliness, and concerning all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.
These are murmurers, complainers, going on according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling things, flattering 1persons for the sake of advantage.
But you, beloved, remember the words spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,
That they said to you, In the 1last time there will be mockers, going on according to their own lusts for ungodliness.
These are those who make divisions, 1soulish, having no 2spirit.
But you, beloved, building up yourselves 1upon your most holy 2faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
1Keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the 2mercy of our 3Lord Jesus Christ 4unto eternal life.
And 1on some have mercy, on those who are 2wavering;
Save them by 1snatching them out of the 2fire. On others have mercy 3in fear, hating even the inner garment spotted from the flesh.
1But to Him who is able to guard you from stumbling and to set you before His 2glory without blemish 3in 4exultation,
To the only 1God our Savior through 1Jesus Christ our Lord be 2glory, majesty, might, and authority 3before all time and now and unto all eternity. Amen.
