RomansChapter 12
 1I  2exhort you therefore, brothers, through the  3compassions of God to  4present your bodies a  5living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your  6reasonable  7service.
And do  1not be fashioned according to  2this age, but be  3transformed by the  4renewing of the mind that you may  5prove what the  6will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to  1think more highly of himself than he ought to think, but to think so as to be sober-minded, as God has apportioned to each a measure of faith.
For just as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same  1function,
So we who are many are one Body  1in Christ, and individually  2members one of another.
And having  1gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, whether  2prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Or  1service, let us be faithful in that service; or he who teaches, in that teaching;
Or he who exhorts, in that exhortation; he who  1gives, in simplicity; he who  2leads, in diligence; he who  3shows mercy, in cheerfulness.
 1Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
Love one another warmly in brotherly love; take the lead in showing honor one to another.
Do not be slothful in zeal, but be  1burning in spirit,  2serving the Lord.
Rejoice in hope; endure in tribulation; persevere in prayer.
 1Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality.
 1Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
 1Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another, not setting your mind on the high things but going along with the  1lowly; do not be wise in yourselves.
Repay no one evil for evil;  1take forethought for things honorable in the sight of all men.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live in peace with all men.
Do not  1avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
But “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head.”
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.

A Psalm of Asaph

PsalmsChapter 50
The Mighty One, God Jehovah,
Speaks and summons the earth
From the rising of the sun to its setting.
Out of  1Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God  2shines forth.
Our God has come and will not be silent;
Fire devours before Him,
And around Him it is exceedingly tempestuous.
He calls to the heavens above,
And to the earth that He may judge His people:
Gather My saints to Me,
Those who have made a  1covenant with Me by sacrifice.
Then the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge. Selah
Hear, O My people, and I will speak;
O Israel, and I will testify  1against you:
I am God, your God.
I will not reprove you because of your sacrifices,
And your burnt offerings are before Me continually.
I will not take a bull from your house
Nor goats from your folds,
For every animal of the forest is Mine,
The cattle upon a thousand hills.
I know every bird of the mountains,
And I am aware of everything that moves in the field.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine and the fullness thereof.
Shall I eat the flesh of bulls
Or drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God a sacrifice of  1thanksgiving,
And repay your vows to the Most High;
And  1call upon Me in the day of trouble:
I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.
But to the wicked God says,
What right do you have to declare My statutes
And take up My covenant in your mouth,
Seeing that you hate correction
And cast My words behind you?
When you see a thief, you take pleasure in him;
And your portion is with adulterers.
You let your mouth loose for evil,
And your tongue frames deceit.
You sit and speak against your brother;
You defame the son of your mother.
These things you do, and I keep silent;
You think that I am altogether like you.
I will rebuke you and set forth the matter in order before your eyes.
Consider this then, you who forget God,
Lest I tear you apart and there be none to deliver you.
Whoever offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies Me;
And to him who sets his way right I will show the salvation of God.

To the choir director. A Psalm of David, when  1Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba

PsalmsChapter 51
 1Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;
According to the greatness of Your compassions  2blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And from my sin cleanse me.
For I do know my transgressions,
And my sin is before me continually.
Against You and You alone have I sinned,
And I have done what is evil in Your sight.
Therefore You are righteous when You speak;
You are clear when You judge.
Behold, I was  1brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, You delight in truth in the  1inward parts;
And in the hidden part You would make known wisdom to me.
Purge my sin with  1hyssop, and I will be clean;
Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear gladness and joy,
That the bones which You have broken may exult.
Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a  1clean heart, O God,
And  2renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your  1presence,
And do not take the  2Spirit of Your holiness away from me.
Restore to me the gladness of Your salvation,
And sustain me with a willing spirit.
I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners will turn back to You.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, O God of my salvation;
And my tongue will ring forth Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth will declare Your praise.
For You do not delight in sacrifice;
Otherwise I would offer it;
You take no pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
Do  1good in Your good pleasure unto Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
Then You will delight in the sacrifices of righteousness,
In burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings;
Then they will offer bulls upon Your altar.

To the choir director. A  1Maschil of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul and said to him, David has come to the house of Ahimelech

PsalmsChapter 52
 1Why do you boast in evil, O mighty one?
God's lovingkindness endures continually.
Your tongue devises destruction;
It is like a sharpened razor, O worker of deceit.
You have loved evil rather than good,
Falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. Selah
You have loved all the devouring words,
O deceitful tongue.
God will likewise  1break you down forever;
He will take you and pluck you up from your tent,
And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
And the righteous will see it and fear,
And they will laugh at him, saying,
Behold, this is that mighty man
Who did not make God his  1strength,
But trusted in the multitude of his riches
And strengthened himself in his desire.
But I, like a flourishing olive tree
In the house of God,
Trust in God's lovingkindness
Forever and ever.
I will give You thanks forever,
For You have acted;
And I will hope in Your name in the presence of Your faithful ones,
For it is good.
