Meanwhile, when the myriads of the crowd were gathered together so that they trampled on one another, He began to say to His disciples first, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
这时，有数万群众聚集，甚至彼此践踏，耶稣开讲，先对门徒说，你们自己要提防法利赛人的酵，就是假冒为善。

But there is nothing covered up which will not be revealed, and hidden which will not be known.
只是完全掩盖的事没有不被揭露的，隐藏的事没有不被人知道的。

Therefore what you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in the private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
所以你们在暗中所说的，将要在明处被听见；在内室附耳所说的，将要在房顶上被宣扬。

And I say to you My friends, Do not fear those who kill the body and afterward have nothing more that they can do.
我的朋友，我对你们说，不要怕那些杀身体，以后不能再作什么的。

But I will show you whom you should fear: fear Him who, after killing, has authority to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, fear this One.
我要指示你们当怕的是谁；当怕那杀了以后，又有权柄扔在火坑里的；我实在告诉你们，正要怕祂。

Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? And not one of them is forgotten before God.
五只麻雀不是卖二个铜钱么？在神面前一只也不会忘记。

But even the hairs of your head have all been numbered. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
就是连你们的头发，也都被数过了。不要怕，你们比许多麻雀还贵重。

Moreover, I tell you, Everyone who confesses in Me before men, the Son of Man will also confess in him before the angels of God;
我又告诉你们，凡在人面前，在我里面承认我的，人子在神的使者面前，也必在他里面承认他；

But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
那在人面前不认我的，人子在神的使者面前，也必否认他。

And everyone who will say a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven.
凡说话抵挡人子的，还能得赦免；惟独亵渎圣灵的，不能得赦免。

And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say;
人带你们到会堂、官长和有权柄的人面前，不要忧虑该怎么分诉，或分诉什么，或该说什么；

For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said.
因为在那时刻，圣灵自会教导你们当说的话。

And someone out of the crowd said to Him, Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.
群众中有一个人对祂说，夫子，请你吩咐我的兄弟同我分产业。

But He said to him, Man, who appointed Me a judge or a divider over you?
耶稣对他说，人哪，谁立我作你们的审判官，或分家业的人？

And He said to them, Watch and guard yourself from all covetousness, for no one's life is in the abundance of his possessions.
于是对众人说，你们要当心，要自守，免去一切的贪婪；因为人的生命，不在于家业丰富。

And He told them a parable, saying, The land of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly.
耶稣就告诉他们一个比喻，说，有一个财主的田地出产丰盛；

And he reasoned in himself, saying, What shall I do, for I have no place where I may gather my crops?
他自己心里思量说，我的出产没有地方收藏，怎么办？

And he said, I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and I will gather there all my wheat and my goods.
又说，我要这样办：要把我的仓房拆了，另盖更大的，好在那里收藏我一切的麦子和财物。

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; rest, eat, drink, be merry.
然后要对我的魂说，魂哪，你有许多财物积存，可供多年享用，你休息吧，吃喝快乐吧。

But God said to him, Foolish one, this night they are requiring your soul from you; and the things which you have prepared, whose will they be?
神却对他说，无知的人哪，今夜必要你的魂；你所预备的，要归谁？

So is he who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.
那为自己积财，对神却不富足的，也是这样。

And He said to His disciples, Therefore I say to you, Do not be anxious for your life, what you should eat; nor for your body, what you should put on;
耶稣又对门徒说，所以我告诉你们，不要为生命忧虑，吃什么，也不要为身体忧虑，穿什么。

For the life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
因为生命胜于食物，身体胜于衣服。

Consider the ravens. They neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; yet God nourishes them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!
你们想乌鸦，它们既不种，也不收，没有仓，也没有库，神尚且养活它们。你们比飞鸟贵重多了。

And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his stature?
你们中间谁能因忧虑使自己的身量多加一肘？

If then you cannot do even the least, why are you anxious about the rest?
这最小的事，你们尚且不能作，为什么还忧虑其余的事？

Consider the lilies, how they grow; they do not toil nor even spin thread; but I tell you, Not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.
你们想百合花，怎样生长；它们既不劳苦，也不纺线。但我告诉你们，就是所罗门在他极盛的荣耀里，也没有披戴得像这些花中的一朵。

Now if God so arrays the grass in the field, which is here today and tomorrow is cast into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, you of little faith!
小信的人哪，野地里的草，今天存在，明天就丢在炉里，神尚且这样给它穿戴，何况你们？

And you, do not seek what you shall eat and what you shall drink, and do not be unsettled.
你们不要寻求吃什么，喝什么，也不要挂心。

For all these things the Gentiles of the world are anxiously seeking, but your Father knows that you need these things.
因为这一切都是世上外邦人所急切寻求的，你们的父却知道你们需要这一切。

However, seek His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you.
但你们要寻求祂的国，这些就都要加给你们了。

Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has been well pleased to give you the kingdom.
你们这小群，不要惧怕，因为你们的父乐意把国赐给你们。

Sell your possessions and give alms; make for yourselves purses which do not become old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where thief does not come near nor even moth corrupts;
要变卖你们的家业，施舍给人；为自己预备永不旧的钱袋，用不尽的财宝在诸天之上，就是贼不能近，虫不能蛀的地方。

For where your treasure is, there also your heart will be.
因为你们的财宝在哪里，你们的心也必在哪里。

Then the children of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years.
以色列人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，耶和华就把他们交在米甸人手里七年。

And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the children of Israel made for themselves the dens which are in the mountains as well as the caves and the strongholds.
米甸人的手压制以色列人；以色列人因米甸人的缘故，就在山中为自己挖穴、挖洞、建造营寨。

And whenever Israel sowed its seed, Midian rose up with Amalek and the children of the east, and went up against them.
以色列人每逢撒种之后，米甸人、亚玛力人和东方人都上来攻打他们，

And they encamped against them and destroyed the produce of the land until you come to Gaza, and they left no sustenance in Israel, or sheep or ox or donkey.
对着他们安营，毁坏地的出产，直到迦萨，没有在以色列中留下食物，羊、牛、驴也没有留下；

For they went up with their cattle and their tents and came in like a locust swarm in number; both they and their camels were without number. And they came into the land to destroy it.
因为那些人带着牲畜和帐棚上来，像蝗虫那样多，人和骆驼无数，都进入境内，毁坏那地。

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of Midian. And the children of Israel cried out to Jehovah.
以色列人因米甸人的缘故，极其穷乏；以色列人就哀求耶和华。

And when the children of Israel cried out to Jehovah because of Midian,
当以色列人因米甸人的缘故，哀求耶和华时，

Jehovah sent a man who was a prophet to the children of Israel. And he said to them, Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel, It was I who brought you up out of Egypt and brought you out from the slave house;
耶和华就差遣一位申言者到以色列人那里，对他们说，耶和华以色列的神如此说，我曾领你们从埃及上来，带你们从为奴之家出来，

And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you. And I drove them out before you and gave you their land.
救你们脱离埃及人的手，并脱离一切欺压你们之人的手，把他们从你们面前赶出，将他们的地赐给你们；

And I said to you, I am Jehovah your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But you did not listen to My voice.
又对你们说，我是耶和华你们的神；你们住在亚摩利人的地，不可敬畏他们的神。你们竟不听从我的话。

And the Angel of Jehovah came and sat under the terebinth that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while Gideon his son was beating out the wheat in the winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites.
耶和华的使者来到俄弗拉，在那里坐在属于亚比以谢人约阿施的橡树下；约阿施的儿子基甸正在酒醡那里打麦子，为要逃躲米甸人。

And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him and said to him, Jehovah is with you, valiant warrior.
耶和华的使者向基甸显现，对他说，大能的勇士，耶和华与你同在。

And Gideon said to Him, Please, my lord, if Jehovah is with us, then why has all this happened to us? And where are all His wondrous deeds that our fathers recount to us, saying, Did not Jehovah bring us up out of Egypt? But now Jehovah has abandoned us and delivered us into the hand of Midian.
基甸说，我主，请容我说，耶和华若与我们同在，我们何至遭遇这一切事呢？我们的列祖向我们叙述的，耶和华一切奇妙的作为在哪里呢？他们说，耶和华岂不是领我们从埃及上来么？现在祂却丢弃我们，将我们交在米甸人的手中。

Then Jehovah turned to him and said, Go in this strength of yours, and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Indeed I have sent you.
耶和华面向基甸，说，你靠着你这能力去拯救以色列人脱离米甸人的手，不是我差遣你去的么？

And he said to Him, Please, Lord, by what way can I save Israel? My clan here is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
基甸说，主啊，请容我说，我凭什么拯救以色列人呢？我的家族在玛拿西支派中是至贫穷的，我在我的父家又是至微小的。

And Jehovah said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you will strike the Midianites as one man.
耶和华对他说，我必与你同在，你必击打米甸人，如击打一人一样。

And he said to Him, If now I have found favor in Your sight, perform a sign for me that it is You who are speaking with me.
基甸说，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你给我显一个证据，使我知道是你与我说话。

Do not depart from here until I come to You and bring my present and set it before You. And He said, I will remain until you return.
求你不要离开这里，等我回到你这里，将礼物带来摆在你面前。祂说，我必等你回来。

So Gideon went and prepared a kid and an ephah of flour in unleavened cakes. He put the flesh in a basket and put the broth in a pot, and he brought it out to Him under the terebinth. And he presented it.
于是基甸去预备了一只山羊羔，用一伊法细面作了无酵饼，将肉放在筐内，把汤盛在壶中，带到橡树下使者那里献上。

And the Angel of God said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and put them on this rock; and pour out the broth. And he did so.
神的使者对基甸说，将肉和无酵饼放在这磐石上，把汤倒出来。他就这样行了。

And the Angel of Jehovah put forth the end of the staff that was in His hand and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes. And fire came up from the rock and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. And the Angel of Jehovah went from his sight.
耶和华的使者伸出手内的杖，杖头挨了肉和无酵饼，就有火从磐石中上来，烧尽了肉和无酵饼。耶和华的使者就不见了。

And Gideon saw that He was the Angel of Jehovah. And Gideon said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah! For I have seen the Angel of Jehovah face to face.
基甸见祂是耶和华的使者，就说，哀哉！主耶和华啊，我不好了，因为我面对面看见了耶和华的使者。

And Jehovah said to him, Peace be with you. Do not be afraid; you shall not die.
耶和华对他说，你安心，不要惧怕，你必不至于死。

Then Gideon built an altar there to Jehovah, and he called it Jehovah-shalom. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
于是基甸在那里为耶和华筑了一座坛，起名叫耶和华沙龙。这坛到如今还在亚比以谢族的俄弗拉。

And that night Jehovah said to him, Take your father's bull, that is, the second bull, seven years old; and tear down the altar of Baal that belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it.
当那夜，耶和华对基甸说，你取你父亲的牛来，就是那七岁的第二只牛，并且拆毁你父亲为巴力所筑的坛，砍下坛旁的木像，

And build an altar to Jehovah your God upon the top of this stronghold in the ordered manner. Then take that second bull, and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah that you will cut down.
在这保障顶上整整齐齐地为耶和华你的神筑一座坛，将第二只牛献为燔祭，用你所砍下的木像作柴。

So Gideon took ten men from among his servants and did as Jehovah had told him. But because he was too afraid of his father's house and the men of the city to do it by day, he did it at night.
基甸就从他仆人中挑了十个人，照着耶和华告诉他的行了。他因怕父家和本城的人，不敢在白昼行事，就在夜间行了。

And when the men of the city rose up early in the morning, there was the altar of Baal, broken down; and the Asherah beside it was cut down. And the second bull had been offered upon the altar that had been built.
城里的人清早起来，见巴力的坛拆毁，坛旁的木像砍下，第二只牛献在新筑的坛上，

And they said to one another, Who has done this thing? And after they inquired and sought about, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.
就彼此说，这事是谁作的？他们查究寻访之后，就说，这是约阿施的儿子基甸作的。

Then the men of the city said to Joash, Bring out your son that he may die, for he has broken down the altar of Baal and cut down the Asherah beside it.
城里的人对约阿施说，将你儿子交出来，好治死他；因为他拆毁了巴力的坛，砍下坛旁的木像。

And Joash said to all who stood against him, Will you contend for Baal? Or will you save him? Whoever contends for him will be put to death while it is still morning. If he is a god, let him contend for himself; for his altar has been broken down.
约阿施对站着攻击他的众人说，你们是为巴力争辩么？你们要救他么？谁为他争辩，就要趁着早晨将谁处死。巴力若是神，有人拆毁他的坛，让他为自己争辩吧。

Therefore on that day he named Gideon Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal contend against him, for he has broken down his altar.
所以当日人称基甸为耶路巴力，意思说，他拆毁巴力的坛，让巴力与他争辩。

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east gathered together, and they crossed over and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.
那时，所有的米甸人、亚玛力人和东方人都聚集过河，在耶斯列谷安营。

And the Spirit of Jehovah clothed Gideon; and he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called up behind him.
耶和华的灵披戴在基甸身上，他就吹角；亚比以谢族都应召跟随他。

And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh, and they were also called up behind him. And he sent messengers throughout Asher and Zebulun and Naphtali, and they went up to meet them.
他打发使者到全玛拿西，玛拿西人也应召跟随他。他又打发使者到亚设、西布伦、拿弗他利，那些地方的人也都上来与他们会合。

And Gideon said to God, If indeed You will save Israel through my hand, as You have said,
基甸对神说，你若照着你所说的，要借我的手拯救以色列，

I am laying here a fleece of wool on the threshing floor: If there is dew on the fleece alone and it is dry on all the ground, I will know that You will save Israel through my hand, as You have said.
我就把一团羊毛放在禾场上：若单是羊毛上有露水，而地上都是干的，我就知道你要照着你所说的，借我的手拯救以色列。

And so it happened. When he rose up early the next morning and squeezed the fleece, he wrung dew from the fleece, a bowlful of water.
次日基甸清早起来，见果然是这样；他将羊毛挤一挤，从羊毛中拧出满盆的露水来。

Then Gideon said to God, May Your anger not burn against me, but allow me to speak only this one time. Allow me to make this test with the fleece only this one time. Let it be dry on the fleece only, and let there be dew on all the ground.
基甸又对神说，求你不要向我发怒，我再说这一次：让我将羊毛再试一次。但愿只有羊毛是干的，而地上都有露水。

And God did so that night, so that it was dry on the fleece only and there was dew on all the ground.
这夜神也如此行，只有羊毛是干的，而地上都有露水。

Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was to their north, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
耶路巴力，就是基甸，和一切跟随的人清早起来，在哈律泉旁安营。米甸营在他们北边的山谷，靠近摩利冈。

And Jehovah said to Gideon, The people with you are too many for Me to deliver Midian into their hand; Israel might vaunt himself against Me, saying, My own hand has saved me.
耶和华对基甸说，跟随你的人太多，我不能将米甸人交在他们手中，免得以色列人向我夸大，说，是我们自己的手救了我们。

Now then proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, Whoever is afraid and trembling should return and depart from here. And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.
现在你要宣告使百姓听见，说，凡惧怕战栗的，可以离开这里回去。于是有二万二千人回去，只剩下一万。

Then Jehovah said to Gideon, The people are still too many. Bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. And he of whom I say to you, This one shall go with you, he shall go with you. And every one of whom I say to you, This one shall not go with you, he shall not go.
耶和华对基甸说，人还是太多；你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指着谁对你说，这人可以同你去，他就可以同你去；我指着谁对你说，这人不可同你去，他就不可同你去。

So he brought the people down to the water. And Jehovah said to Gideon, Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart; likewise everyone who bows down on his knees to drink.
基甸就带他们下到水旁。耶和华对基甸说，凡用舌头舔水，像狗舔的，要使他单站在一处；凡屈膝跪下喝水的，也要使他单站在一处。

And the number of those who lapped the water into their mouth with their hand was three hundred men, but the rest of the people bowed down on their knees to drink water.
于是用手捧到嘴边舔水的有三百人，其余的人都屈膝跪下喝水。

And Jehovah said to Gideon, Through the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and I will deliver Midian into your hand. But let all the other people go, each to his own place.
耶和华对基甸说，我要用这舔水的三百人拯救你们，将米甸人交在你手中；其余的人都可以各归各处去。

Then the people took provisions in their hand and their trumpets; and he sent all the men of Israel away, each to his own tent, but retained the three hundred men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.
这三百人就带着食物和角；其余的以色列人，基甸都打发他们各归各的帐棚，只留下这三百人。米甸营在他下边的山谷里。

And that night Jehovah said to him, Arise; go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.
当那夜，耶和华对基甸说，起来，下去攻营，因我已将那营交在你手中。

But if you are afraid to go down, go down with Purah your young man into the camp;
倘若你怕下去，就带你的仆人普拉下到营那里去。

And you will hear what they are saying. Then afterward your hands will be strengthened so that you can go down against the camp. So he went down with Purah his young man to the edge of the battle array that was in the camp.
你必听见他们所说的，然后你的手就必得加强，你就能下去攻营。于是基甸带着仆人普拉下到营边，靠近部队。

Now the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay in the valley like a locust swarm in multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand on the seashore is in multitude.
米甸人、亚玛力人和一切东方人都散布在山谷中，如同蝗虫那样多；他们的骆驼无数，多如海边的沙。

And when Gideon came, at that moment a man was recounting a dream to his companion; and he said, I have just had a dream. There was this round loaf of barley bread tumbling through the camp of Midian. And it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and it turned it upside down. And the tent collapsed.
基甸到了，就听见一人将梦告诉同伴说，我作了一梦，梦见一个大麦圆饼辊入米甸营中，到了帐幕，将帐幕撞倒，帐幕就翻转倾覆了。

And his companion answered and said, This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel. God has delivered Midian and all the camp into his hand.
那同伴回答说，这不是别的，乃是以色列人约阿施的儿子基甸的刀；神已将米甸和全营都交在他的手中。

And when Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he worshipped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for Jehovah has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.
基甸听见这梦的叙述和梦的讲解，就敬拜神。他回到以色列营中，说，起来吧，耶和华已将米甸营交在你们手中了。

And he divided the three hundred men into three companies; and he put trumpets into the hands of them all, as well as empty pitchers, with torches inside the pitchers.
于是基甸将三百人分作三队，把角和空瓶交在各人手里，瓶内都有火把。

And he said to them, Look at me, and do as I do. Right when I come to the edge of the camp, you shall do just as I do.
他对他们说，你们要看着我，要照我所行的而行。我一到了营边，我怎样行，你们也要怎样行。

When I and all who are with me blow the trumpet, you also blow the trumpets around all the camp and say, For Jehovah and for Gideon!
我和一切跟随我的人吹角的时候，你们也要在全营的四围吹角，喊叫说，耶和华和基甸的刀！

So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch. They had just then posted the watch. And they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.
基甸和跟随他的一百人，在午夜更之初，才换更的时候，来到营边，就吹角，打破手中的瓶。

And the three companies blew the trumpets and shattered the pitchers; and they held the torches in their left hands, and the trumpets were in their right hands to blow. And they cried out, A sword for Jehovah and for Gideon!
三队的人都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿着火把，右手拿着角，喊叫说，耶和华和基甸的刀！

And each man stood in his place around the camp. Then the whole camp ran off, and they shouted and fled.
他们在营的四围各站各的地方；全营的人都乱窜，一面喊叫，一面逃跑。

And they blew the three hundred trumpets, and Jehovah set each man's sword against his companion and against the whole camp. And the camp fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah, as far as the edge of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath.
三百人吹响三百枝角，耶和华使全营的人用刀互相击杀，他们向西利拉逃到伯哈示他，直逃到靠近他巴，亚伯米何拉的河边。

And the men of Israel were called up from Naphtali and from Asher and from all of Manasseh, and they pursued after Midian.
以色列人就从拿弗他利、亚设和全玛拿西，应召来追赶米甸人。

Then Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of Ephraim, saying, Come down against Midian, and seize the waters against them as far as Beth-barah and the Jordan. And every man of Ephraim was called up, and they seized the waters as far as Beth-barah and the Jordan.
基甸打发人到以法莲全山地，说，你们下来攻击米甸人，争先把守约但河的渡口，直到伯巴拉。于是以法莲的众人应召把守约但河的渡口，直到伯巴拉，

And they captured two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. And they slew Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the wine press of Zeeb; and they pursued Midian. And they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon across the Jordan.
捉住了米甸的两个首领俄立和西伊伯；将俄立杀在俄立磐石上，将西伊伯杀在西伊伯酒醡那里；又追赶米甸人，将俄立和西伊伯的首级带过约但河，到基甸那里。

Then the men of Ephraim said to him, Why have you done this thing to us, that you did not call us when you went to battle against Midian? And they contended with him sharply.
以法莲人对基甸说，你去与米甸人争战，没有召我们同去，为什么这样待我们？他们就与基甸大大地争闹。

And he said to them, What have I done now to compare with you? Are not the gleanings of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?
基甸对他们说，现在我行了什么能与你们相比呢？以法莲所拾取剩下的葡萄，不强过亚比以谢所摘收的葡萄么？

It was into your hand that God gave the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. And what was I able to do in comparison with you? Then their hostile spirit toward him subsided when he said this word.
神已将米甸的首领俄立和西伊伯交在你们手中；我能行什么与你们相比呢？基甸说了这话，以法莲人向他的怒气就消了。

Then Gideon came to the Jordan and crossed over, he and the three hundred men with him, weary yet pursuing.
基甸和跟随他的三百人来到约但河，就过了河，虽然疲乏，还是追赶。

And he said to the men of Succoth, Please give us loaves of bread for the people behind me, for they are weary and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.
基甸对疏割人说，求你们拿些饼来给跟随我的人吃，因为他们疲乏了，我还在追赶米甸的两个王西巴和撒慕拿。

But the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna in your hand now, that we should give bread to your army?
但疏割的首领说，难道西巴和撒慕拿已经在你手里，所以我们该将饼给你的军兵么？

And Gideon said, Because of this, when Jehovah does deliver Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will trample your flesh on the thorns of the wilderness and the briers.
基甸说，那么，等耶和华将西巴和撒慕拿交在我手里之后，我要把你们的肉踹踏在野地的荆条和枳棘上。

Then he went up from there to Penuel and spoke to them in the same way; and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered.
基甸从那里上到毗努伊勒，对那里的人也是这样说；毗努伊勒人回答他也像疏割人回答的一样。

And he spoke also to the men of Penuel, saying, When I return in peace, I will break down this tower.
他也向毗努伊勒人说，等我平平安安回来的时候，我必拆毁这楼。

Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their camps were with them, about fifteen thousand men, all who were left of the entire camp of the children of the east; for there had fallen one hundred and twenty thousand men who drew the sword.
那时西巴和撒慕拿，并跟随他们的军队都在加各，约有一万五千人，就是东方人全军所剩下的；已经倒毙的约有十二万拿刀的。

And Gideon went up by way of the tent dwellers, east of Nobah and Jogbehah; and he struck the camp when the camp was off guard.
基甸就由挪巴和约比哈东边，从住帐棚人的路上去，在米甸军队安然无备的时候，击杀了他们。

And Zebah and Zalmunna fled, and he pursued after them. And he captured the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and threw all the camp into confusion.
西巴和撒慕拿逃跑；基甸追赶他们，捉住米甸的二王西巴和撒慕拿，惊散全军。

And when Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle from the ascent of Heres,
约阿施的儿子基甸由希列斯坡从阵上回来，

He captured a young man from among the men of Succoth and questioned him. And he wrote down for him the princes of Succoth and its elders, seventy-seven men.
捉住疏割的一个少年人，查问他。他将疏割首领和长老七十七个人的名字写下来给基甸。

Then he came to the men of Succoth and said, Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, concerning whom you taunted me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna in your hand now, that we should give bread to your men who are weary?
基甸到了疏割，对那里的人说，看哪，西巴和撒慕拿在这里；你们曾指着他们讥诮我说，难道西巴和撒慕拿已经在你手里，所以我们该将饼给跟随你的疲乏人么？

And he took the elders of the city and the thorns of the wilderness and the briers, and with them he trampled the men of Succoth.
于是捉住那城的长老，并拿野地的荆条和枳棘来，用以踹踏疏割人；

And he broke down the tower of Penuel and slew the men of the city.
又拆了毗努伊勒的楼，杀了那城里的人。

Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, What were the men whom you slew in Tabor like? And they said, As you are, so were they. Each one was like the children of a king in form.
基甸问西巴和撒慕拿说，你们在他泊山所杀的人是什么样子？他们说，你是什么样子，他们也是什么样子；每一个都像王子的模样。

And he said, They were my brothers, the sons of my mother. As Jehovah lives, if you had kept them alive, I would not slay you.
基甸说，他们是我同母的兄弟，我指着永活的耶和华起誓，你们从前若存留他们的性命，我如今就不杀你们了。

And he said to Jether his firstborn, Rise up; slay them. But the youth would not draw his sword, because he was fearful; for he was still a youth.
于是对他的长子益帖说，你起来杀他们。但那童子害怕，不敢拔刀，因为他还是个童子。

Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, You rise up, and fall on us; for there is as much strength as there is man. And Gideon rose up and slew Zebah and Zalmunna. And he took the crescents that were on their camels' necks.
西巴和撒慕拿说，你自己起来杀我们吧，因为人如何，力量也如何。基甸就起来，杀了西巴和撒慕拿，夺了他们骆驼项上戴的月牙圈。

And the men of Israel said to Gideon, Rule over us, you and your son and your grandson as well; for you have saved us from the hand of Midian.
以色列人对基甸说，你既救我们脱离米甸人的手，愿你和你的儿孙管理我们。

But Gideon said to them, I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. Jehovah will rule over you.
基甸说，我不管理你们，我的儿子也不管理你们，惟有耶和华管理你们。

And Gideon said to them, Let me make a request of you, that each of you give me an earring from his spoil. (The Midianites had golden earrings, for they were Ishmaelites.)
基甸又对他们说，我有一件事求你们，请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我（原来米甸人都戴金耳环，因为他们是以实玛利人）。

And they said, We will willingly give it. And they spread out a garment, and each of them threw an earring from his spoil there.
他们说，我们情愿给你。于是铺开一件外衣，各人将所夺的耳环丢在其上。

And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was one thousand seven hundred shekels of gold. This was besides the crescents and the pendants and the purple garments that were upon the kings of Midian and besides the chains that were on their camels' necks.
基甸所要来的金耳环重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外还有米甸王身上的月牙圈、耳坠和紫色衣服，并骆驼项上的链子。

And Gideon made an ephod with it and placed it in his city, in Ophrah. And all Israel went as harlots to it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his house.
基甸以此制造了一个以弗得，设立在本城俄弗拉。后来全以色列在那里随从这以弗得行了邪淫；这就作了基甸和他全家的网罗。

So Midian was subdued before the children of Israel, and they lifted up their heads no more. And the land had rest forty years in the days of Gideon.
这样，米甸人在以色列人面前被制伏了，不能再抬起头来。基甸还在的日子，那地太平四十年。

Then Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his house.
约阿施的儿子耶路巴力回去，住在自己家里。

And Gideon had seventy sons, the issue of his loins, for he had many wives.
基甸有七十个儿子，都是他亲生的，因为他有许多妻子。

And his concubine who was in Shechem also bore him a son, and he named him Abimelech.
他在示剑的妾，也给他生了一个儿子，基甸给他起名叫亚比米勒。

And Gideon the son of Joash died at a good old age, and he was buried in the tomb of Joash his father in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
约阿施的儿子基甸，享大寿数而死，葬在亚比以谢族的俄弗拉，在他父亲约阿施的坟墓里。
