And now, little children, abide in Him, so that if He is manifested, we may have boldness and not be put to shame from Him at His coming.
现在，孩子们，你们要住在主里面；这样，祂若显现，我们就可以坦然无惧，当祂来临的时候，也不至于蒙羞离开祂。

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also has been begotten of Him.
你们若晓得祂是义的，就当知道凡行义的人也都是从祂生的。

Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. Because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
你们看，父赐给我们的是何等的爱，使我们得称为神的儿女，我们也真是祂的儿女。世人所以不认识我们，是因未曾认识祂。

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been manifested what we will be. We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is.
亲爱的，我们现在是神的儿女，将来如何，还未显明；但我们晓得祂若显现，我们必要像祂；因为我们必要看见祂，正如祂所是的。

And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.
凡向祂有这盼望的，就洁净自己，正如祂是洁净的一样。

Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
凡犯罪的，也行不法；罪就是不法。

And you know that He was manifested that He might take away sins; and sin is not in Him.
你们晓得祂曾显现，为要除去罪；在祂里面并没有罪。

Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him.
凡住在祂里面的，就不犯罪；凡犯罪的，是未曾看见祂，也未曾认识祂。

Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who practices righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous;
孩子们，不要让人迷惑你们，行义的人才是义的，正如祂是义的一样；

He who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
犯罪的是出于魔鬼，因为魔鬼从起初就犯罪。为此，神的儿子显现出来，是要消除魔鬼的作为。

Everyone who has been begotten of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been begotten of God.
凡从神生的，就不犯罪，因为神的种子住在他里面；他也不能犯罪，因为他是从神生的。

In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest.
在此，神的儿女和魔鬼的儿女就显出来了。

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim the king of Judah Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
犹大王约雅敬在位第三年，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来到耶路撒冷，将城围困。

And the Lord gave Jehoiakim the king of Judah into his hand with some of the vessels of the house of God; and he brought them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god, and he brought the vessels into the treasury of his god.
主将犹大王约雅敬，并神殿中的一些器皿交付他手，他就把这些器皿带到示拿地，他神的庙里，带进他神的库中。

Then the king told Ashpenaz, the chief of his eunuchs, to bring some of the sons of Israel, including some from the royal seed and from the nobility,
王吩咐太监长亚施毗拿，从以色列人中，从王室后裔和贵胄中，带进几个人来，

Children in whom was no defect, who were good in appearance, who showed insight in all wisdom, understanding in knowledge, and apprehension in thought, and in whom was the ability to stand in the king's palace. And he told him to teach them the learning and language of the Chaldeans.
就是年少没有残疾，相貌俊美，通晓各样智慧，知识通达，思想敏捷，足能侍立在王宫里的，要教他们迦勒底人的学问和语言。

And the king appointed to them a daily portion from the king's choice provision and from the wine that he drank, and appointed that they should be brought up for three years so that at the end of the time they might stand before the king.
王派定将自己所用的膳和所饮的酒，每日赐他们一分，养他们三年；好叫他们在期满以后可以在王面前侍立。

Now among these from the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
他们中间有犹大族的人，但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅；

And the leader of the eunuchs gave them names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; Hananiah, the name Shadrach; Mishael, the name Meshach; and Azariah, the name Abed-nego.
太监长给他们起名，称但以理为伯提沙撒，称哈拿尼雅为沙得拉，称米沙利为米煞，称亚撒利雅为亚伯尼歌。

But Daniel set his heart not to defile himself with the king's choice provision and with the wine that the king drank, so he requested of the leader of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
但以理却立定心意，不以王的膳和王所饮的酒玷污自己，所以求太监长容他不玷污自己。

And God granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the leader of the eunuchs;
神使但以理在太监长眼前蒙恩惠，受怜恤；

And the leader of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink; for why should he see your faces being more morose than those of the children who are of your own age? Then you would bring guilt upon my head before the king.
太监长对但以理说，我惧怕我主我王，他已经派定你们的饮食；为何叫他看见你们的面貌，比你们同岁的少年人瘦弱难看呢？这样，你们就使我的头在王那里难保。

Then Daniel said to the steward whom the leader of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
但以理对太监长所派管理但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅的委办说，

Please test your servants for ten days, and let vegetables be given to us to eat and water to drink.
求你试试仆人们十天，给我们蔬菜吃，白水喝，

Then let our countenances be watched in your presence, as well as the countenances of the children who eat the king's choice provision; and do with your servants according to what you see.
然后当面察看我们的面貌，和用王膳那些少年人的面貌；就照你所看的待仆人吧。

So he listened to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.
委办便允准他们这件事，试看他们十天。

And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared better, and they were more fully fleshed than all the children who ate the king's choice provision.
过了十天，见他们的面貌更显俊美，比用王膳的一切少年人更加健壮；

Therefore the steward withheld their portion of the choice provision and the wine that they were to drink and gave them vegetables.
于是委办撤去派定他们用的膳、饮的酒，只给他们蔬菜吃。

Now as for these four children, God gave them knowledge and insight in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
这四个少年人，神在各样学问、智慧上，赐给他们知识聪明；但以理又明白各样的异象和梦兆。

Then at the end of the days when the king had said that the children should be brought in, the leader of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar;
尼布甲尼撒王吩咐带进少年人来的日期到了，太监长就把他们带到王面前。

And the king spoke with them. And among them all none were found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they stood in the presence of the king.
王与他们谈论，见少年人中，无一人能比但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅；于是他们就在王面前侍立。

And in every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and conjurers who were in all his realm.
王考问他们一切智慧、学问的事，见他们比通国的术士和用法术的，胜过十倍。

And Daniel continued until the first year of Cyrus the king.
直到古列王元年，但以理还在。
