论到那从起初原有的生命之话，就是我们所听见过的，我们亲眼所看见过的，我们所注视过，我们的手也摸过的；

论到从起初原有的生命之道，就是我们所听见，所看见，亲眼看过，亲手摸过的。

论到太初就已经存在的生命之道，就是我们所听见，亲眼所看见，仔细观察过，亲手摸过的；

论到那从起初就有的生命的圣言，就是我们听见过，我们亲眼看见过，瞻仰过，以及我们亲手摸过的生命的圣言──

论到生命之道、那从起初就有的、我们曾听见、曾亲眼看见、曾观看而亲手摸过的道：

那从起初的，那我们所听见的、那我们眼所看见的、那我们看过的．而且我们手所摸过的。关于那生命之道

Ὃ ἦν ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς, ὃ ἀκηκόαμεν, ὃ ἑωράκαμεν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν, ὃ ἐθεασάμεθα καὶ αἱ χεῖρες ἡμῶν ἐψηλάφησαν περὶ τοῦ λόγου τῆς ζωῆς –

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life

That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

And these things we write that our joy may be made full.

We write this to make our joy complete.

神就是光，在祂里面毫无黑暗；这是我们从祂所听见，现在又报给你们的信息。

且这是…信息：{我们从他听见且宣布给你们的}神是光．且在他里面完全没有黑暗。

我们若说我们与神有交通，却在黑暗里行，就是说谎话，不行真理了；
