一日，亚哈谢从撒玛利亚王宫楼上的窗户掉下来，就病了；于是差遣使者，说，你们去问以革伦的神巴力西卜，我这病能好不能好。

And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber which was in Samaria and became ill. And he sent messengers and said to them, Go and inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron whether I will recover from this sickness.

But the Angel of Jehovah said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise; go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you go to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, "Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?'

Now therefore thus says Jehovah, You shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, but you shall surely die. And Elijah departed.

And when the messengers returned to him, he said to them, Why have you returned?

And the messengers turn back unto him, and he saith unto them, 'What is this -- ye have turned back!'

When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, "Why have you come back?"

使者对他说，有一个人上来迎着我们，对我们说，去吧，你们回去见差你们来的王，对他说，耶和华如此说，你差人去问以革伦神巴力西卜，岂因以色列中没有神么？所以你必不下你所上的床，必定要死。

他们回答说：“有一个人迎上我们来，对我们说：你们回去见打发你们来的君王，对他说：上主这样说：你派人去求问厄刻龙的神巴耳则步布，难道在以色列没有天主吗？为此，你再不能从你所上的床上下来，你必定要死。”

使者回答他说：“有一个人迎着我们而上来，对我们说：‘去吧，你们回去见那差遣你们、的王，对他说：永恒主这样说：是不是因为以色列中没有上帝，而你得差遣人去寻问以革伦的神巴力西卜呢？这样你所上的床、你必不能从那里下来；你必定死。’”

他们对他说：“有一个人迎着我们上来，对我们说：‘你们回到差你们来的王那里，对他说：雅威如此说，…难道以色列中没有神吗？你差人去求问以革伦的神明巴力‧西卜，所以你所上到那里的床，你必不从它那里下来，你必定会死。’”

And they said to him, A man came up to meet us and said to us, Go and return to the king who sent you, and say to him, Thus says Jehovah, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you send men to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.

And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

And they say unto him, 'A man hath come up to meet us, and saith unto us, Go, turn back unto the king who sent you, and ye have said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, Is it because there is not a God in Israel -- thou art sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub god of Ekron? therefore, the bed whither thou hast gone up, thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die.'

A man came to meet us, they replied. "And he said to us, 'Go back to the king who sent you and tell him, "This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending men to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!" ' "

王问他们说，那上来迎着你们，告诉你们这话的，是怎样的人？

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם מֶ֚ה מִשְׁפַּ֣ט הָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָלָ֖ה לִקְרַאתְכֶ֑ם וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖יםהָאֵֽלֶּה׃

And he said to them, What sort of man was he who came up to meet you and spoke these words to you?

And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?

And he said to them, What manner of man was he that came up to meet you, and told you these words?

And he saith unto them, 'What is the fashion of the man who hath come up to meet you, and speaketh unto you these words?'

The king asked them, "What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?"

他们说，他身穿毛衣，腰束皮带。王说，这是提斯比人以利亚。

回答说：“他身穿毛衣，腰束皮带。”王说：“这必是提斯比人以利亚。”

他们对王说：“那人穿着毛皮衣，腰间束上皮带。”王说：“这人必是提斯比人以利亚。”

他们回答说：“是一个身穿皮毛衣，腰束皮带的人。”君王说：“这一定是提市贝人厄里亚。”

他们回答说：“那人是个粗毛汉，腰束皮带。”王说：“这一定是提斯比人以利亚。”

他们对他说：“那人．是身穿毛衣，且以皮带束他的腰的人。”他说：“他必定是提斯比人以利亚。”

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו אִ֚ישׁ בַּ֣עַל שֵׂעָ֔ר וְאֵזֹ֥ור עֹ֖ור אָז֣וּר בְּמָתְנָ֑יו וַיֹּאמַ֕ר אֵלִיָּ֥ה הַתִּשְׁבִּ֖י הֽוּא׃

And they said to him, A hairy man, and he was girded with a leather girdle around his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

And they said to him, He was a man in a hairy [garment], and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

And they say unto him, 'A man -- hairy, and a girdle of skin girt about his loins;' and he saith, 'He is Elijah the Tishbite.'

They replied, "He was a man with a garment of hair and with a leather belt around his waist." The king said, "That was Elijah the Tishbite."

于是王差遣一个五十夫长，带着他那五十人去见以利亚。他上到以利亚那里，以利亚正坐在山顶上。五十夫长对他说，神人哪，王说，你下来！

于是王差遣五十夫长，带领五十人去见以利亚，他就上到以利亚那里，以利亚正坐在山顶上。五十夫长对他说：“神人哪，王吩咐你下来！”

于是王差派一个五十夫长和他的五十名手下到以利亚那里；那位五十夫长就上到以利亚那里去。他看见以利亚正坐在山顶上，就对以利亚说：“神人哪！王吩咐你下来。”

王遂派五十夫长，带领五十人，去见厄里亚。他上去见厄里亚，厄里亚正坐在山顶上。五十夫长便对厄里亚说：“天主的人，王命你下去。”

于是王差遣一个五十夫长带着他那五十人去见以利亚；他上到以利亚那里，以利亚正坐在山顶上。五十夫长对他说：“神人哪，王吩咐你下来。”

于是他(指王)差遣五十夫长和他的五十人到他(指以利亚)那里，他(指五十夫长)就上到他(指以利亚)那里。看哪，他(指以利亚)正坐在山顶上。他(指五十夫长)对他(指以利亚)说：“神人哪，王命令：下来！”

And he sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. And the captain went up to him, and there he was, sitting on the top of the hill. And he said to him, O man of God, the king says, Come down!

Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

And he sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he sat on the top of the mount. And he spoke to him: Man of God, the king says, Come down!

And he sendeth unto him a head of fifty and his fifty, and he goeth up unto him (and lo, he is sitting on the top of the hill), and he speaketh unto him, 'O man of God, the king hath spoken, Come down.'

Then he sent to Elijah a captain with his company of fifty men. The captain went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him, "Man of God, the king says, 'Come down!' "

And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Elijah answered the captain, "If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!" Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men.

王又差遣另一个五十夫长带着他那五十人去见以利亚。五十夫长应时对以利亚说：“神人哪、王这样吩咐说：‘你赶快下来。’

王又差遣另一个五十夫长和他的五十人到他(指以利亚)那里。他(指五十夫长)回应，吩咐(指以利亚)他：“神人哪，王这样说：快下来！”

וַיָּ֜שָׁב וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלָ֛יו שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים אַחֵ֖ר וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑יו וַיַּ֨עַן֙ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו אִ֚ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥רהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מְהֵרָ֥ה רֵֽדָה׃

And again the king sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And the captain answered and said to him, O man of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.

And again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he spoke and said to him, Man of God, thus says the king: Come down quickly!

And he turneth and sendeth unto him another head of fifty and his fifty, and he answereth and speaketh unto him, 'O man of God, thus said the king, Haste, come down.'

At this the king sent to Elijah another captain with his fifty men. The captain said to him, "Man of God, this is what the king says, 'Come down at once!' "

And Elijah answered and said to them, If I am the man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

And again the king sent a captain of a third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up; and he came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and he entreated him and said to him, O man of God, may my soul and the soul of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.

So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. This third captain went up and fell on his knees before Elijah. "Man of God," he begged, "please have respect for my life and the lives of these fifty men, your servants!

Already fire has come down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty and their fifties; and now may my soul be precious in your sight.

对君王说：“上主这样说：由于你打发使者去求问厄刻龙的神巴耳则步布，好像在以色列没有天主可以向他求问指示一样，因此，你再不能从你所上的床上下来，你必定要死。”

对王说：“永恒主这么说：‘你既差遣使者去寻问以革伦的神巴力西卜──是不是因为以色列中没有上帝可以让你寻问他的话呢？──因此你所上的床、你必不能从那里下来；你必定死。’”

他(指以利亚)对他(指王)说：“雅威如此说：‘你差使者去求问．以革伦的神明巴力‧西卜，难道以色列中没有神可以求问祂的话吗？所以你所上到那里的床，你必不从它那里下来，你必定会死！’”

Then he said to him, Thus says Jehovah, Because you sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron — was it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His word? — therefore you shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

And he said to him, Thus saith Jehovah: Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt certainly die.

and speaketh unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah, Because that thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal-Zebub god of Ekron -- is it because there is not a God in Israel to inquire of His word? therefore, the bed whither thou hast gone up -- thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die.'

He told the king, "This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel for you to consult that you have sent messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!"

亚哈谢果然死了，正如以利亚所说耶和华的话。因他没有儿子，他兄弟约兰接替他作王，正在犹大王约沙法的儿子约兰第二年。

亚哈谢就像以利亚所说的雅威的话死了。…约兰接续他作王。在约沙法的儿子犹大王约兰第二年，因他没有儿子。

So he died, according to the word of the Lord that Elijah had spoken. Because Ahaziah had no son, Joram succeeded him as king in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah.
