And they served idols, concerning which Jehovah had said to them, You shall not do this thing.

R
And Jehovah testified against Israel and against Judah through all the prophets and all the seers, saying, Turn from your evil ways; and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers and which I sent to you through My servants the prophets.

The Lord warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: "Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets."

And they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations that you have carried away and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria do not know the custom of the God of the land; therefore He has sent lions among them, and now they are killing them because they do not know the custom of the God of the land.

It was reported to the king of Assyria: "The people you deported and resettled in the towns of Samaria do not know what the god of that country requires. He has sent lions among them, which are killing them off, because the people do not know what he requires."

I
You must always be careful to keep the decrees and ordinances, the laws and commands he wrote for you. Do not worship other gods.

我耶和华与你们所立的约，你们不可忘记，也不可敬畏别神；

וְהַבְּרִ֛ית אֲשֶׁר־כָּרַ֥תִּי אִתְּכֶ֖ם לֹ֣א תִשְׁכָּ֑חוּ וְלֹ֥א תִֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃
R
And you shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you, neither shall you fear other gods;

and the covenant that I have made with you ye do not forget, and ye do not fear other gods;

但要敬畏耶和华你们的神，祂必救你们脱离一切仇敌的手。
和
但要敬畏耶和华你们的神，他必救你们脱离一切仇敌的手。”

但要敬畏耶和华你们的神，他必救你们脱离所有仇敌的手。”
思
只应敬拜上主你们的天主，他必拯救你们脱离你们一切仇敌的权势。”
吕
只要敬畏永恒主你们的上帝，他就援救你们脱离一切仇敌的手。”
直
但要敬畏雅威──你们的神，祂必救你们脱离你们一切仇敌的手。”
原
כִּ֛י אִֽם־אֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם תִּירָ֑אוּ וְהוּא֙ יַצִּ֣יל אֶתְכֶ֔ם מִיַּ֖ד כָּל־אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃

But you shall fear Jehovah your God, and He will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

他们却不听从，仍照先前的风俗去行。

וְלֹ֖א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ כִּ֛י אִֽם־כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֥ם הָֽרִאשֹׁ֖ון הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים׃

But they did not listen but acted according to their former customs.

Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

and they have not hearkened, but according to their former custom they are doing,

They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices.

如此，这些民又惧怕耶和华，又事奉他们雕制的偶像，他们的子子孙孙也是这样；他们的祖宗怎样行，他们也照样行，直到今日。
和
如此这些民又惧怕耶和华，又侍奉他们的偶像。他们子子孙孙也都照样行，效法他们的祖宗，直到今日。
新
这样，这些民族一方面敬畏耶和华；另一方面又继续服事他们的偶像。他们的子子孙孙继续照着他们的祖先所行的去行，直到今日。
思
这样，这些人民敬拜上主，又事奉他们的彫像；他们的子子孙孙也是如此：祖先怎样行，子孙也怎样行，直到今日。

所以这些列国的人又敬畏永恒主，又服事他们自己的雕像；他们的子子孙孙也这样：他们的列祖怎样行，直到今日他们也怎样行。

这些国民惧怕雅威，却事奉他们自己的偶像。他们的儿子和他们儿子的儿子也效法他们的祖宗，他们照样行，直到今日。

וַיִּהְי֣וּ׀ הַגֹּויִ֣ם הָאֵ֗לֶּה יְרֵאִים֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶת־פְּסִֽילֵיהֶ֖ם הָי֣וּ עֹֽבְדִ֑ים גַּם־בְּנֵיהֶ֣ם׀ וּבְנֵ֣י בְנֵיהֶ֗םכַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֤וּ אֲבֹתָם֙ הֵ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים עַ֖ד הַיֹּ֥ום הַזֶּֽה׃ פ

So these nations feared Jehovah but served their graven images, as well as their children and their children's children; as their fathers had done, so they have done unto this day.

Even while these people were worshiping the Lord , they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did.
