But he would give a double portion to Hannah, for it was Hannah whom he loved; but Jehovah had shut up her womb.

And her rival provoked her bitterly to irritate her, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.

And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.

And so it happened year after year; when she went up to the house of Jehovah, the other provoked her this way; and she wept and would not eat.

她丈夫以利加拿对她说：“哈拿啊，妳为何哭泣，为何不吃，妳的心为何战兢呢？我对妳不比十个儿子还好吗？”

And Elkanah her husband said to her, Hannah, why are you weeping, and why do you not eat? And why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?

Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?

Elkanah her husband would say to her, "Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don't you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don't I mean more to you than ten sons?"

Then after the eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah rose up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his seat at the doorpost of the temple of Jehovah.

So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.

And Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk; (now Eli the priest sat upon the seat by the door-post of the temple of Jehovah;)

Once when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on a chair by the doorpost of the Lord 's temple.

And she was bitter in soul and prayed to Jehovah and wept much.

她许愿说，万军之耶和华啊，你若垂顾你婢女的苦情，记念我，不忘记你的婢女，赐你的婢女一个男孩，我必将他终身献与耶和华，不用剃刀剃他的头。

许愿说：“万军之耶和华啊，你若垂顾婢女的苦情，眷念不忘婢女，赐我一个儿子，我必使他终身归与耶和华，不用剃头刀剃他的头。”

并且许愿，说：“万军之耶和华啊，你若是看顾使女的困苦，记念我，不忘记你的使女，赐给使女一个儿子，我就必把他一生献给耶和华，不剃他的头。”

且许愿说：“万军的上主，若你垂顾你婢女的痛苦，记念我，不忘你的婢女，赐你婢女生一个男孩，我就将他一生献于上主，一辈子不给他剃头。”

她许个愿说：“万军之永恒主啊，你若真地看到使女的困苦，眷念到我，不忘了使女，而赐给使女一个男的后裔，那么我就要使他尽他一生的日子献与永恒主，剃刀总不上到他的头。”

她许了一个愿说：“万军之雅威啊，祢若真的垂顾祢婢女的苦情，眷念不忘祢的婢女，就赐给祢的婢女一个子嗣，我必使他终身归与雅威，不让剃头刀上他的头。”

And she made a vow and said, O Jehovah of hosts, if You will indeed look upon the affliction of Your female servant and remember me and not forget Your female servant, but give to Your female servant a male child, then I will give him to Jehovah for all the days of his life, and no razor will come upon his head.

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

And she made a vow, saying, "O Lord Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."

And while she continued praying a long time before Jehovah, Eli watched her mouth.

And Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought that she was drunk.

And Eli said to her, How long will you be drunk? Put away your wine from you.

And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

And Eli saith unto her, 'Until when are thou drunken? turn aside thy wine from thee.'

and said to her, "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine."

哈拿回答说：“主啊，不是的；我是个心灵苦闷的妇人；清酒浓酒我都没有喝，我乃是在永恒主面前倾心吐意的。

哈拿回答说：“主啊，不是这样。我是心里愁苦的妇人，淡酒或烈酒我都没有喝，但在雅威面前倾倒我的心。

וַתַּ֨עַן חַנָּ֤ה וַתֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לֹ֣א אֲדֹנִ֔י אִשָּׁ֤ה קְשַׁת־ר֨וּחַ֙ אָנֹ֔כִי וְיַ֥יִן וְשֵׁכָ֖ר לֹ֣א שָׁתִ֑יתִי וָאֶשְׁפֹּ֥ךְאֶת־נַפְשִׁ֖י לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
R
And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord. I am a woman oppressed in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before Jehovah.

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

And Hannah answereth and saith, 'No, my lord, A woman sharply pained in spirit I am, and wine and strong drink I have not drunk, and I pour out my soul before Jehovah;

Not so, my lord, Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord .

不要将婢女看作卑劣的女子。我因被人激动，愁苦太重，所以一直诉说到如今。
和
不要将婢女看作不正经的女子。我因被人激动，愁苦太多，所以祈求到如今。”

不要把你的使女看作不检点的女子，我因为极度愁苦和激动，才一直倾诉到现在。”

אַל־תִּתֵּן֙ אֶת־אֲמָ֣תְךָ֔ לִפְנֵ֖י בַּת־בְּלִיָּ֑עַל כִּֽי־מֵרֹ֥ב שִׂיחִ֛י וְכַעְסִ֖י דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי עַד־הֵֽנָּה׃
R
Do not take your female servant for a worthless woman; for out of the greatness of my anxiety and provocation I have been speaking all this time.

Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

And she said, Let your servant find favor in your sight. And the woman went her way; and she ate, and her countenance was sad no more.

And they rose up early in the morning and worshipped before Jehovah; and they returned and came to their house in Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and Jehovah remembered her.

And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son; and she called his name Samuel, For, she said, I asked for him of Jehovah.

Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

So in the course of time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the Lord for him."

And the man Elkanah went up with all his house to offer the yearly sacrifice to Jehovah and his vow.

וְחַנָּ֖ה לֹ֣א עָלָ֑תָה כִּֽי־אָמְרָ֣ה לְאִישָׁ֗הּ עַ֣ד יִגָּמֵ֤ל הַנַּ֨עַר֙ וַהֲבִאֹתִ֗יו וְנִרְאָה֙ אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔הוְיָ֥שַׁב שָׁ֖ם עַד־עֹולָֽם׃
R
But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, When the child is weaned, then I will bring him up, so that he may appear before Jehovah and stay there forever.

But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.

Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, "After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord , and he will live there always."

她丈夫以利加拿对她说：“你看怎么好、就怎么作吧；你尽管呆着、等到给孩子断了奶；但愿永恒主实现你（传统：他）的话。”于是那妇人在家里呆着、乳养儿子，直到给孩子断了奶。

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהּ֩ אֶלְקָנָ֨ה אִישָׁ֜הּ עֲשִׂ֧י הַטֹּ֣וב בְּעֵינַ֗יִךְ שְׁבִי֙ עַד־גָּמְלֵ֣ךְ אֹתֹ֔ו אַ֛ךְ יָקֵ֥ם יְהוָ֖האֶת־דְּבָרֹ֑ו וַתֵּ֤שֶׁב הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ וַתֵּ֣ינֶק אֶת־בְּנָ֔הּ עַד־גָמְלָ֖הּ אֹתֹֽו׃
R
And Elkanah her husband said to her, Do what is good in your sight; stay until you have weaned him. Only, may Jehovah establish His word. So the woman stayed and nursed her son until she weaned him.

And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

And Elkanah her husband said to her, Do what is good in thy sight: abide until thou hast weaned him; only, may Jehovah fulfil his word. And the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

And Elkanah her husband saith to her, 'Do that which is good in thine eyes; abide till thy weaning him; only, Jehovah establish His word;' and the woman abideth and suckleth her son till she hath weaned him,
I
Do what seems best to you, Elkanah her husband told her. "Stay here until you have weaned him; only may the Lord make good his word." So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she had weaned him.

她既给孩子断了奶，就带他一同上去，又带了三只公牛，一伊法细面，一皮袋酒；孩子还小，她就带他到示罗耶和华的殿中。

断乳后，她便带着小孩和一头三岁的牛，一‘厄法’面和一皮囊酒，来到史罗上主的圣殿﹔孩子还很小。

既给孩子断了奶，她就把他带上去，又将一只三岁公牛（传统：三只公牛）、一伊法面粉、一皮袋酒、一齐带到示罗永恒主的殿；也带孩子去（传统：那时孩子还小）；

וַתַּעֲלֵ֨הוּ עִמָּ֜הּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר גְּמָלַ֗תּוּ בְּפָרִ֤ים שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ וְאֵיפָ֨ה אַחַ֥ת קֶ֨מַח֙ וְנֵ֣בֶל יַ֔יִן וַתְּבִאֵ֥הוּבֵית־יְהוָ֖ה שִׁלֹ֑ו וְהַנַּ֖עַר נָֽעַר׃
R
And as soon as she weaned him, she brought him up with her, along with three bulls and one ephah of flour and a skin of wine; and she brought him to the house of Jehovah in Shiloh, although the child was young.

And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.

And she took him up with her when she had weaned him, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a flask of wine, and brought him to the house of Jehovah to Shiloh; and the boy was young.

and she causeth him to go up with her when she hath weaned him, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and she bringeth him into the house of Jehovah at Shiloh, and the youth is but a youth.

After he was weaned, she took the boy with her, young as he was, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh.

对他说：“我主，请听：我主，就如你活着那样真实，我就是曾在你旁边祈求上主的那个妇人，

妇人说：“哦，我主啊，我敢指着我主的性命来起誓，从前在这里站在你旁边、向永恒主祈祷的那妇人就是我。

她说：“我主啊，求你，只要我主你的生命还活着

וַתֹּ֨אמֶר֙ בִּ֣י אֲדֹנִ֔י חֵ֥י נַפְשְׁךָ֖ אֲדֹנִ֑י אֲנִ֣י הָאִשָּׁ֗ה הַנִּצֶּ֤בֶת עִמְּכָה֙ בָּזֶ֔ה לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃
R
And she said, Oh, my lord, as your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood here by you, praying to Jehovah.

And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.
D
And she said, Oh my lord, [as] thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here to pray to Jehovah.
Y
and she saith, 'O, my lord, thy soul liveth! my lord, I am the woman who stood with thee in this place, to pray unto Jehovah;
I
and she said to him, "As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord .

我祷告为要得这孩子；耶和华已将我向祂所求的赐给我了。

It was for this child that I prayed, and Jehovah has granted me my request that I requested from Him.

For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

For this boy I prayed; and Jehovah has granted me my petition which I asked of him.

for this youth I prayed, and Jehovah doth give to me my petition which I asked of Him;
I
I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.

所以，我也将这孩子借与耶和华；他终身都是借与耶和华的。于是他在那里敬拜耶和华。

所以我，我也将这孩子献归永恒主，使他尽他一生的日子献归永恒主。”他们就在那里敬拜永恒主。

וְגַ֣ם אָנֹכִ֗י הִשְׁאִלְתִּ֨הוּ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה כָּל־הַיָּמִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֔ה ה֥וּא שָׁא֖וּל לַֽיהוָ֑ה וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ שָׁ֖םלַיהוָֽה׃ פ

Therefore I, for my part, have lent him to Jehovah; all the days that he lives, he is lent to Jehovah. And he worshipped Jehovah there.

Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.

And also I have lent him to Jehovah: all the days that he lives, he is lent to Jehovah. And he worshipped Jehovah there.

and also I have caused him to be asked for Jehovah, all the days that he hath lived -- he is asked for Jehovah;' and he boweth himself there before Jehovah.

So now I give him to the Lord . For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord ." And he worshiped the Lord there.
