R
And Samuel said to Saul, Jehovah sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore listen to the voice of the words of Jehovah.

Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.

Samuel said to Saul, "I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the Lord .

כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאֹ֔ות פָּקַ֕דְתִּי אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה עֲמָלֵ֖ק לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֥ם לֹו֙ בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְבַּעֲלֹתֹ֖ו מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃
R
Thus says Jehovah of hosts, I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they set themselves against them in the way as they came up out of Egypt.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

This is what the Lord Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt.

Go now and strike the Amalekites; and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, oxen and sheep, camel and donkey.

And Saul said to the Kenites, Go, depart; go down from among the Amalekites; otherwise, I will destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt. And the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

Then he said to the Kenites, "Go away, leave the Amalekites so that I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt." So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.

我立扫罗为王，我后悔了；因为他转去不跟从我，不履行我的话。撒母耳便甚恼怒，终夜哀求耶和华。

“我立扫罗为王，我后悔了，因为他转去不跟从我，不遵守我的命令。”撒母耳便甚忧愁，终夜哀求耶和华。

“我后悔立了扫罗为王，因为他已经离去不跟随我，也不执行我的命令了。”撒母耳非常忿怒，整夜哀求耶和华。

נִחַ֗מְתִּי כִּֽי־הִמְלַ֤כְתִּי אֶת־שָׁאוּל֙ לְמֶ֔לֶךְ כִּֽי־שָׁב֙ מֵאַֽחֲרַ֔י וְאֶת־דְּבָרַ֖י לֹ֣א הֵקִ֑ים וַיִּ֨חַר֙לִשְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַיִּזְעַ֥ק אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה כָּל־הַלָּֽיְלָה׃
R
I repent that I made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not fulfilled My words. And Samuel was angry, and he cried to Jehovah all night long.

It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he is turned away from following me, and hath not fulfilled my words. And Samuel was much grieved; and he cried to Jehovah all night.

'I have repented that I caused Saul to reign for king, for he hath turned back from after Me, and My words he hath not performed;' and it is displeasing to Samuel, and he crieth unto Jehovah all the night.
I
I am grieved that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions. Samuel was troubled, and he cried out to the Lord all that night.

Then Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning. And it was told Samuel, saying, Saul went to Carmel and has now set up a monument for himself, and he has returned and passed on down to Gilgal.

Early in the morning Samuel got up and went to meet Saul, but he was told, "Saul has gone to Carmel. There he has set up a monument in his own honor and has turned and gone on down to Gilgal."

And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, Blessed are you of Jehovah! I have fulfilled the word of Jehovah.

And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, Blessed art thou of Jehovah: I have fulfilled the word of Jehovah.

When Samuel reached him, Saul said, "The Lord bless you! I have carried out the Lord 's instructions."

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וּמֶ֛ה קֹֽול־הַצֹּ֥אן הַזֶּ֖ה בְּאָזְנָ֑י וְקֹ֣ול הַבָּקָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י שֹׁמֵֽעַ׃

And Samuel said, What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears and the lowing of oxen that I hear?

And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

And Samuel said, What [means] then this bleating of sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of oxen which I hear?

And Samuel saith, 'And what is the noise of this flock in mine ears -- and the noise of the herd which I am hearing?'
I
But Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?"

扫罗说，这些是从亚玛力人那里带来的；因为百姓爱惜上好的牛羊，要献与耶和华你的神；其余的，我们都灭绝了。

And Saul said, They have been brought from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen to sacrifice to Jehovah your God, and the rest we have utterly destroyed.

Saul answered, "The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but we totally destroyed the rest."

Then Samuel said to Saul, Stop, and I will tell you what Jehovah spoke to me last night. And he said to him, Speak.

And Samuel saith unto Saul, 'Desist, and I declare to thee that which Jehovah hath spoken unto me to-night;' and he saith to him, 'Speak.'
I
Stop! Samuel said to Saul. "Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night." "Tell me," Saul replied.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל הֲלֹ֗וא אִם־קָטֹ֤ן אַתָּה֙ בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ רֹ֛אשׁ שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אָ֑תָּה וַיִּמְשָׁחֲךָ֧ יְהוָ֛הלְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
R
And Samuel said, Though you are small in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? And Jehovah has anointed you king over Israel.

And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

And Samuel said, Was it not when thou wast little in thine eyes that thou [becamest] the head of the tribes of Israel, and Jehovah anointed thee king over Israel?

And Samuel saith, 'Art not thou, if thou art little in thine own eyes, head of the tribes of Israel? and Jehovah doth anoint thee for king over Israel,

Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel.

And Jehovah sent you on a journey and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.

你为何没有听从雅威的声音，急忙扑向掠物，行雅威眼中

וְלָ֥מָּה לֹא־שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ בְּקֹ֣ול יְהוָ֑ה וַתַּ֨עַט֙ אֶל־הַשָּׁלָ֔ל וַתַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס
R
Why then did you not obey the voice of Jehovah, but flew upon the spoil and did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah?
K
Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
D
Why then didst thou not hearken to the voice of Jehovah, but didst fall upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of Jehovah?
Y
and why hast thou not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah -- and dost fly unto the spoil, and dost do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah?'
I
Why did you not obey the Lord ? Why did you pounce on the plunder and do evil in the eyes of the Lord ?"

扫罗对撒母耳说，我实在听从了耶和华的话，行了耶和华所差遣我行的路，擒了亚玛力王亚甲来，并灭绝了亚玛力人。
和
扫罗对撒母耳说：“我实在听从了耶和华的命令，行了耶和华所差遣我行的路，擒了亚玛力王亚甲来，灭尽了亚玛力人。

扫罗回答撒母耳：“我实在听从了耶和华的话，行了耶和华差遣我行的路；我把亚玛力人的王亚甲带了回来，又把亚玛力人都彻底毁灭了。

撒乌耳回答撒慕尔说：“我的确听从了上主的命令，走了上主指给我的路，擒获了阿玛肋克王阿加格，毁灭了阿玛肋克人。

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我实在听了永恒主的声音，实在行了永恒主所差遣我走的路呀；我把亚玛力王亚甲带了来，又将亚玛力人尽行杀灭归神呀。

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我有听从雅威的声音，行了雅威差遣我行的路，带亚玛力王亚甲来，也灭尽了亚玛力人。

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שָׁא֜וּל אֶל־שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֤ר שָׁמַ֨עְתִּי֙ בְּקֹ֣ול יְהוָ֔ה וָאֵלֵ֕ךְ בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־שְׁלָחַ֣נִי יְהוָ֑הוָאָבִ֗יא אֶת־אֲגַג֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ עֲמָלֵ֔ק וְאֶת־עֲמָלֵ֖ק הֶחֱרַֽמְתִּי׃

And Saul said to Samuel, I surely did obey the voice of Jehovah, and I went on the journey that Jehovah sent me on. And I have brought Agag the king of the Amalekites and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

And Saul saith unto Samuel, 'Because -- I have hearkened to the voice of Jehovah, and I go in the way which Jehovah hath sent me, and bring in Agag king of Amalek, and Amalek I have devoted;
I
But I did obey the Lord , Saul said. "I went on the mission the Lord assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back Agag their king.

But of the spoil the people took sheep and oxen, the chief of those things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to Jehovah your God in Gilgal.

撒母耳说：“永恒主喜爱燔祭和平安祭，哪如喜爱人之听从永恒主的声音呢？看哪，听从胜于献祭，留心听、胜于公绵羊的脂肪。

撒母耳说：“雅威岂喜爱燔祭和祭物，…呢？像

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל הַחֵ֤פֶץ לַֽיהוָה֙ בְּעֹלֹ֣ות וּזְבָחִ֔ים כִּשְׁמֹ֖עַ בְּקֹ֣ול יְהוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה שְׁמֹ֨עַ֙ מִזֶּ֣בַח טֹ֔ובלְהַקְשִׁ֖יב מֵחֵ֥לֶב אֵילִֽים׃

And Samuel said, / Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices / As much as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? / Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, / And to heed, than the fat of rams.

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

And Samuel said, Has Jehovah delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, As in hearkening to the voice of Jehovah? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, Attention than the fat of rams.

And Samuel saith, 'Hath Jehovah had delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices as in hearkening to the voice of Jehovah? lo, hearkening than sacrifice is better; to give attention than fat of rams;
I
But Samuel replied: "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord ? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

悖逆与行邪术的罪相等；顽梗与拜虚神和家神相同。你既厌弃耶和华的话，耶和华也厌弃你作王。
和
悖逆的罪与行邪术的罪相等；顽梗的罪与拜虚神和偶像的罪相同。你既厌弃耶和华的命令，耶和华也厌弃你作王。”
新
因为悖逆与行邪术的罪相同，顽梗与拜虚无偶像一样，因为你弃绝了耶和华的话，耶和华也弃绝了你作王。”
思
背命等于行卜，顽抗与敬拜偶像无异。因为你拒绝了上主的命令，上主也拒绝了你作王。”
吕
因为占卜的罪乃和悖逆相同；拜家神像的罪愆就等于僭忘。你既弃绝了永恒主吩咐的话，永恒主也弃绝你为王。”
直
悖逆与行邪术的罪相等，顽梗就等于是犯罪和拜偶像。你既厌弃雅威的话，祂也厌弃你作王。”

כִּ֤י חַטַּאת־קֶ֨סֶם֙ מֶ֔רִי וְאָ֥וֶן וּתְרָפִ֖ים הַפְצַ֑ר יַ֗עַן מָאַ֨סְתָּ֙ אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַיִּמְאָסְךָ֖ מִמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ ס

For rebellion is like the sin of divination, / And insubordination is like idolatry and teraphim. / Because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, / He has also rejected you from being king.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
D
For rebellion is [as] the sin of divination, And selfwill is [as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, He hath also rejected thee from being king.

for a sin of divination is rebellion, and iniquity and teraphim is stubbornness; because thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, He also doth reject thee from being king.'
I
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , he has rejected you as king."

扫罗对撒母耳说，我有罪了，我因惧怕百姓，听从他们的话，就违犯了耶和华的命令和你的言语。

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我有罪了，我因惧怕百姓，听从他们的话，就违背了耶和华的命令和你的言语。

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我有罪了；我因为惧怕众民、而听从他们的话，就越犯了永恒主所吩咐的、和你所说的。

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我有罪了，因我违背雅威的命令和你的话，我惧怕百姓，就听从他们的声音。

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שָׁא֤וּל אֶל־שְׁמוּאֵל֙ חָטָ֔אתִי כִּֽי־עָבַ֥רְתִּי אֶת־פִּֽי־יְהוָ֖ה וְאֶת־דְּבָרֶ֑יךָ כִּ֤י יָרֵ֨אתִי֙אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וָאֶשְׁמַ֖ע בְּקֹולָֽם׃

And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned. I violated the Lord 's command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them.

Now therefore pardon my sin, I beg you, and return with me so that I may worship Jehovah.

Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.

And now, I pray thee, forgive my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship Jehovah.

and now, bear, I pray thee, with my sin, and turn back with me, and I bow myself to Jehovah.'

撒母耳对扫罗说：“我不同你回去；因为你弃绝了永恒主吩咐的话，永恒主也弃绝你做以色列的王。”

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל֙ אֶל־שָׁא֔וּל לֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב עִמָּ֑ךְ כִּ֤י מָאַ֨סְתָּה֙ אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַיִּמְאָסְךָ֣ יְהוָ֔המִהְיֹ֥ות מֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס
R
But Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of Jehovah, and Jehovah has rejected you from being king over Israel.

And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

And Samuel said to Saul, I will not turn again with thee; for thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, and Jehovah has rejected thee from being king over Israel.

And Samuel saith unto Saul, 'I do not turn back with thee; for thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, and Jehovah doth reject thee from being king over Israel.'

But Samuel said to him, "I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord , and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!"

And when Samuel turned around to go, Saul seized the corner of his cloak, and it tore.

And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.

As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe, and it tore.

And Samuel said to him, Jehovah has torn the kingdom of Israel away from you today and has given it to an associate of yours, who is better than you.

And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

Then Samuel said to him, Jehovah has rent the kingdom of Israel from thee to-day, and has given it to thy neighbour, who is better than thou.

Samuel said to him, "The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors-to one better than you.

Moreover the Eminence of Israel does not lie nor repent, for He is not a man that He should repent.

扫罗说，我有罪了，虽然如此，求你在我百姓的长老和以色列人面前尊重我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和华你的神。

扫罗说：“我有罪了，虽然如此，求你在我百姓的长老和以色列人面前抬举我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和华你的神。”

扫罗说：“我犯了罪了，但是求你在我人民的长老面前和以色列人面前给我面子，与我一同回去，我好敬拜耶和华你的神。”

撒乌耳遂说：“我固然犯了罪，但如今请你在我民族的长老和以色列前，仍尊重我，同我一起回去，好让我朝拜上主，你的天主。”

扫罗说：“我有罪了，求你当着我人民的长老面前、也当着以色列人面前、尊重尊重我，同我回去，我好敬拜永恒主你的上帝。”

他说：“我有罪了，现在求你在我百姓的长老面前和以色列

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר חָטָ֔אתִי עַתָּ֗ה כַּבְּדֵ֥נִי נָ֛א נֶ֥גֶד זִקְנֵֽי־עַמִּ֖י וְנֶ֣גֶד יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְשׁ֣וּב עִמִּ֔י וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֵ֖יתִילַֽיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

Then Saul said, I have sinned. Honor me now, I beg you, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me so that I may worship Jehovah your God.

Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God.

Saul replied, "I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God."

So Samuel returned after Saul, and Saul worshipped Jehovah.

撒母耳说，把亚玛力王亚甲带到我这里来。亚甲就欢欢喜喜地来到他那里，因他心里说，死亡的苦楚必定转消了。
和
撒母耳说：“要把亚玛力王亚甲带到我这里来。”亚甲就欢欢喜喜地来到他面前，心里说，死亡的苦难必定过去了。

随后撒母耳说：“把亚玛力人的王亚甲带到我这里来！”亚甲欢欢喜喜走到他面前，心里说：“死亡的痛苦必定过去了！”

以后撒慕尔说：“将阿玛肋克王阿加格给我解来！”阿加格到了他那里，很是高兴，阿加格心想：“死亡的苦的确过去了。”

撒母耳说：“把亚玛力王亚甲带到我跟前来。”亚甲就摇摇欲坠地来到他面前，心里说：“确实啊，死亡之苦！”

撒母耳说：“要把亚玛力王亚甲带到我这里来。”亚甲就欢欢喜喜地来到他面前，说，死亡的苦难必定消除了。

Then Samuel said, Bring Agag the king of the Amalekites near to me. And Agag came to him cheerfully, for Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death has turned.

Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.

And Samuel said, Bring ye near to me Agag the king of Amalek. And Agag came to him gaily. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.

and Samuel saith, 'Bring ye nigh unto me Agag king of Amalek,' and Agag cometh unto him daintily, and Agag saith, 'Surely the bitterness of death hath turned aside.'

Then Samuel said, "Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites." Agag came to him confidently, thinking, "Surely the bitterness of death is past."

撒慕尔对他说：“你的剑怎样使众多妇女丧子，你的母亲在妇女中也要怎样丧子。”撒慕尔就在基耳加耳上主面前杀了阿加格。

撒母耳说：“你怎样用刀使妇人们丧失儿子，你母亲也必怎样在妇人中丧失儿子。”于是撒母耳在吉甲永恒主面前、将亚甲砍成块子。

撒母耳说：“正如你用你的刀使妇人丧子，你的母亲在妇人中也必丧子。”于是，撒母耳在吉甲，在雅威面前将亚甲杀死。

And Samuel said, Just as your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag to pieces before Jehovah in Gilgal.

And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

But Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so will your mother be childless among women." And Samuel put Agag to death before the Lord at Gilgal.

And Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

And Samuel never again saw Saul unto the day of his death, though Samuel mourned for Saul. And Jehovah repented that He had made Saul king over Israel.

And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.

Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the Lord was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.
