耶和华的使者从吉甲上到波金，对以色列人说，我使你们从埃及上来，领你们到我向你们列祖起誓应许之地。我又说，我永不废弃与你们所立的约；

永恒主的使者从吉甲上到波金（即：‘哭泣者’的意思），说：“我领你们从埃及上来，带你们到我向你们列祖起誓应许的地；我又说：‘我永远不违犯我的约、同你们立的约；

雅威的使者从吉甲上到波金，说：“我使你们从埃及上来，领你们到我向你们列祖起誓应许之地。我曾说：‘我永不废弃与你们(所立)的约。

וַיַּ֧עַל מַלְאַךְ־יְהוָ֛ה מִן־הַגִּלְגָּ֖ל אֶל־הַבֹּכִ֑ים פוַיֹּאמֶר֩ אַעֲלֶ֨ה אֶתְכֶ֜ם מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם וָאָבִ֤יא אֶתְכֶם֙אֶל־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי֙ לַאֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם וָאֹמַ֕ר לֹֽא־אָפֵ֧ר בְּרִיתִ֛י אִתְּכֶ֖ם לְעֹולָֽם׃

Then the Angel of Jehovah went up from Gilgal to Bochim. And He said, I caused you to go up out from Egypt, and I brought you into the land that I swore to your fathers. And I said, I will never break My covenant with you,

The angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. I said, 'I will never break my covenant with you,

你们也不可与这地的居民立约，要拆毁他们的祭坛。你们竟没有听从我的话。你们这作的是什么事？

至于你们，不可与这地的居民立约，他们的祭坛你们要拆毁。’你们竟没有听从我的话！你们做的这是什么事呢？

וְאַתֶּ֗ם לֹֽא־תִכְרְת֤וּ בְרִית֙ לְיֹֽושְׁבֵי֙ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את מִזְבְּחֹותֵיהֶ֖ם תִּתֹּצ֑וּן וְלֹֽא־שְׁמַעְתֶּ֥ם בְּקֹלִ֖ימַה־זֹּ֥את עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃

And you shall not make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars. But you did not listen to My voice. What is this that you have done?

And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?

and saith, 'I cause you to come up out of Egypt, and bring you in unto the land which I have sworn to your fathers, and say, I do not break My covenant with you to the age; and ye -- ye make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land -- their altars ye break down; and ye have not hearkened to My voice -- what is this ye have done?

and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars.' Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this?

因此我又说，我必不将他们从你们面前赶出；他们必作你们肋下的荆棘；他们的神必作你们的网罗。

因此我又说：‘我必不将他们从你们面前赶出；他们必作你们肋下的荆棘，他们的神必作你们的网罗。’”

因此我又说：‘我必不把他们从你们面前赶走，他们要作你们的敌人，他们的神要作你们的网罗。’”

为此我现在说：我必不把他们从你们面前赶走，他们为你们将是陷阱，他们的神要成为你们的罗网。”

因此我又说：‘我必不将他们从你们面前撵出去；他们必成了你们肋下的荆棘；他们的神必饵诱你们入于网罗。’”

我又说：‘我必不将他们从你们面前赶出；他们就成为你们的肋下。他们的神明必成为你们的网罗。’

וְגַ֣ם אָמַ֔רְתִּי לֹֽא־אֲגָרֵ֥שׁ אֹותָ֖ם מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם וְהָי֤וּ לָכֶם֙ לְצִדִּ֔ים וֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם יִהְי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לְמֹוקֵֽשׁ׃

Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they will be like thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.

וַיְהִ֗י כְּדַבֵּ֞ר מַלְאַ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֶֽל־כָּל־בְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ הָעָ֛ם אֶת־קֹולָ֖םוַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃

And when the Angel of Jehovah had spoken these words to all the children of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept.

于是给那地方起名叫波金。众人在那里向耶和华献祭。

וַֽיִּקְרְא֛וּ שֵֽׁם־הַמָּקֹ֥ום הַה֖וּא בֹּכִ֑ים וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־שָׁ֖ם לַֽיהוָֽה׃ פ

And they called the name of that place Bochim. And they offered to Jehovah there.

从前约书亚打发百姓去的时候，以色列人各归自己的地业，占据那地。

约书亚遣散了众人，以色列人就各归自己承受的地业，要占有那地。

若苏厄遣散了百姓，以色列子民就各到自己应得的产业去，为占领那地方。

约书亚把人民送走了以后，以色列人各归自己的地业，去占领那地。

约书亚打发百姓，以色列人就去，各归自己的地业，占据地土。

וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח יְהֹושֻׁ֖עַ אֶת־הָעָ֑ם וַיֵּלְכ֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אִ֥ישׁ לְנַחֲלָתֹ֖ו לָרֶ֥שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

Now when Joshua sent the people away, each of the children of Israel went to his own inheritance to possess the land.

And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.

约书亚在世的日子，以及约书亚死后，那些见过耶和华为以色列人所行大事的长老还在的日子，百姓都事奉耶和华。

约书亚在世和约书亚死后，那些见耶和华为以色列人所行大事的长老还在的时候，百姓都侍奉耶和华。

约书亚在世的时候，以及他去世以后，那些见过耶和华为以色列人所行的大事的众长老还在的日子，众人都事奉耶和华。

当若苏厄在世时，和他去世后，那些见过上主为以色列所行的大事的长老们还在的时日，百姓都事奉上主。

尽约书亚在世的日子、又尽那些看见永恒主为以色列人所行一切大事的长老、尽那些比约书亚后死的长老在世的日子、人民都是始终事奉永恒主的。

…百姓都事奉雅威。约书亚在世和…长老还在的日子，约书亚死后继续活着，见雅威…一切大事的为以色列所行

וַיַּעַבְד֤וּ הָעָם֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י יְהֹושֻׁ֑עַ וְכֹ֣ל׀ יְמֵ֣י הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֶאֱרִ֤יכוּ יָמִים֙ אַחֲרֵ֣ייְהֹושׁ֔וּעַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָא֗וּ אֵ֣ת כָּל־מַעֲשֵׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ הַגָּדֹ֔ול אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And the people served Jehovah throughout all the days of Joshua and throughout all the days of the elders whose days extended after Joshua's and who saw all the great work of Jehovah that He had done for Israel.

耶和华的仆人嫩的儿子约书亚，正一百一十岁就死了。

וְגַם֙ כָּל־הַדֹּ֣ור הַה֔וּא נֶאֶסְפ֖וּ אֶל־אֲבֹותָ֑יו וַיָּקָם֩ דֹּ֨ור אַחֵ֜ר אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹא־יָֽדְעוּ֙אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וְגַם֙ אֶת־הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס

And all that generation as well were gathered to their fathers; and another generation, who did not know Jehovah or the work that He had done for Israel, rose up after them.

וַיַּעֲשׂ֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּעַבְד֖וּ אֶת־הַבְּעָלִֽים׃

And the children of Israel did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah and served the Baals.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baals.

And the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and serve the Baalim,

Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD and served the Baals.

离弃了领他们出埃及地的耶和华他们列祖的神，去随从跪拜别神，就是四围众民的一些神，惹耶和华发怒；

离弃了领他们出埃及地的耶和华、他们列祖的神，去叩拜别神，就是四围列国的神，惹耶和华发怒。

他们离弃了领他们出埃及的耶和华、他们列祖的神，去跟从别的神，就是他们周围各族的神，敬拜他们，惹耶和华发怒。

他们离弃了上主他们祖先的天主，即领他们出离埃及地的天主，而随从了别的神，叩拜他们四周各民族的神，因此触怒了上主。

离弃了领他们出埃及地的永恒主、他们列祖的上帝，去随从别的神、四围别族之民的神，去跪拜他们，来惹永恒主发怒。

离弃了…雅威──他们列祖的神，领他们出埃及地的．去随从别的神，就是从四围百姓来的神明，叩拜它们，惹雅威发怒；

וַיַּעַזְב֞וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה׀ אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹותָ֗ם הַמֹּוצִ֣יא אֹותָם֮ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ וַיֵּלְכ֞וּ אַחֲרֵ֣י׀ אֱלֹהִ֣יםאֲחֵרִ֗ים מֵאֱלֹהֵ֤י הָֽעַמִּים֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיבֹ֣ותֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם וַיַּכְעִ֖סוּ אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃

And they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them out from the land of Egypt; and they followed after other gods from among the gods of the peoples who surrounded them; and they worshipped them and provoked Jehovah to anger.

并离弃耶和华，去事奉巴力和亚斯他录。

耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，把他们交在抢夺者手中，这些人就抢夺他们；祂又将他们交付在四围仇敌的手中，甚至他们在仇敌面前再不能站立得住。

וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֤ף יְהוָה֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַֽיִּתְּנֵם֙ בְּיַד־שֹׁסִ֔ים וַיָּשֹׁ֖סּוּ אֹותָ֑ם וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵ֞ם בְּיַ֤ד אֹֽויְבֵיהֶם֙ מִסָּבִ֔יבוְלֹֽא־יָכְל֣וּ עֹ֔וד לַעֲמֹ֖ד לִפְנֵ֥י אֹויְבֵיהֶֽם׃

Then the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel, and He delivered them into the hands of plunderers; and they plundered them. And He sold them into the hand of their enemies around them, and they were no longer able to stand before their enemies.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

In his anger against Israel the LORD handed them over to raiders who plundered them. He sold them to their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.

他们无论往何处去，耶和华的手都以灾祸攻击他们，正如耶和华所说的，又如耶和华向他们所起誓的；他们便极其困苦。

在所有他们出去之处，雅威的手都以灾祸攻击他们，正如雅威说的，又如雅威向他们起誓的；他们便极其困苦。

Whenever they went out, the hand of Jehovah was against them for evil, as Jehovah had spoken and as Jehovah had sworn to them; and they were greatly distressed.

וַיָּ֥קֶם יְהוָ֖ה שֹֽׁפְטִ֑ים וַיֹּ֣ושִׁיע֔וּם מִיַּ֖ד שֹׁסֵיהֶֽם׃

And Jehovah raised up judges, and they saved them out of the hands of those who plundered them.

Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.

但他们也不听从士师，竟随从别神，行了邪淫，向这些神跪拜，速速地偏离他们列祖所行的道路，不像他们列祖那样听从耶和华的命令。

他们却不听从士师，竟随从叩拜别神，行了邪淫，速速地偏离他们列祖所行的道，不如他们列祖顺从耶和华的命令。

但他们连士师也不听从，竟与别的神行了奸淫，敬拜他们；他们迅速偏离了他们列祖所行、听从耶和华命令的道路，他们没有照样行。

但他们仍不肯听从他们的民长，反而与外邦的神行淫，顶礼叩拜，迅速地离开了他们祖先所走的服从上主命令的路，没有照样行事。

但是连他们的士师、他们也不听从，竟变节去服事而跪拜别的神；他们迅速地偏离了他们列祖听从永恒主命令所走的道路，而不照样地行。

他们却不听从他们的士师，竟随从别神行淫，叩拜它们，速速地偏离他们列祖所行…的道，听从雅威命令．不照样去行。

וְגַ֤ם אֶל־שֹֽׁפְטֵיהֶם֙ לֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֔עוּ כִּ֣י זָנ֗וּ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם סָ֣רוּ מַהֵ֗רמִן־הַדֶּ֜רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָלְכ֧וּ אֲבֹותָ֛ם לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ מִצְוֹת־יְהוָ֖ה לֹא־עָ֥שׂוּ כֵֽן׃

Yet they did not listen to their judges either, but they went about as harlots after other gods and worshipped them. They turned aside quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, the way of obeying the commandments of Jehovah; this they did not do.

And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.

But they did not even hearken to their judges, for they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves to them; they turned quickly out of the way that their fathers had walked in, obeying the commandments of Jehovah; they did not so.

and also unto their judges they have not hearkened, but have gone a-whoring after other gods, and bow themselves to them; they have turned aside with haste out of the way in which their fathers walked to obey the commands of Jehovah -- they have not done so.

Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the LORD 's commands.

耶和华为他们兴起士师，就与那士师同在。那士师在世的一切日子，耶和华拯救他们脱离仇敌的手；他们因受人压迫欺凌，就哀声叹气，耶和华便怜恤他们。

当上主给他们兴起民长时，上主与民长同在，在民长一生的岁月中，救他们脱离仇敌的手，因为上主听见了他们受压迫欺凌发出的叹息，而怜悯了他们；

永恒主为他们兴起了士师，又和那士师同在；尽那士师在世的日子、永恒主总是拯救他们脱离仇敌的手；因他们在压迫者欺压者底下所发出的哀哼声，永恒主就怜恤他们。

雅威为他们兴起士师，雅威与那士师同在。那士师在世的一切日子，他拯救他们脱离他们仇敌的手。雅威因他们…的呻吟而心生怜悯。受欺压扰害

וְכִֽי־הֵקִ֨ים יְהוָ֥ה׀ לָהֶם֮ שֹֽׁפְטִים֒ וְהָיָ֤ה יְהוָה֙ עִם־הַשֹּׁפֵ֔ט וְהֹֽושִׁיעָם֙ מִיַּ֣ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣יהַשֹּׁופֵ֑ט כִּֽי־יִנָּחֵ֤ם יְהוָה֙ מִנַּֽאֲקָתָ֔ם מִפְּנֵ֥י לֹחֲצֵיהֶ֖ם וְדֹחֲקֵיהֶֽם׃

And when Jehovah raised up judges for them, Jehovah was with the judge, and He saved them from the hand of their enemies throughout all the days of the judge; for Jehovah would be moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and crushed them.

And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them.

及至那士师死后，他们就转去行恶，比他们列祖更甚，去随从别神，事奉跪拜这些神，总不断绝他们的恶行，和顽梗的行径。

可是士师死了以后，他们就转而行恶，比他们的列祖更厉害，去随从别的神，事奉和敬拜他们，总不放弃他们的恶行和顽梗的行径。

可是民长一去世，他们又转而行恶，行为比他们的祖先更坏，去追随外神，事奉叩拜他们，总不放弃他们祖先的恶行和顽抗的行为。

但是那士师死了以后，他们就转而变坏、比他们祖宗更坏，去随从而事奉跪拜别的神、总不放下他们的坏行为和刚愎的行径。

及至那士师死后，他们就转而败坏，比他们列祖更甚，去跟随别的神，事奉它们，叩拜它们，总不断绝他们的作为与他们残忍的恶行。

וְהָיָ֣ה׀ בְּמֹ֣ות הַשֹּׁופֵ֗ט יָשֻׁ֨בוּ֙ וְהִשְׁחִ֣יתוּ מֵֽאֲבֹותָ֔ם לָלֶ֗כֶת אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְעָבְדָ֖םוּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם לֹ֤א הִפִּ֨ילוּ֙ מִמַּ֣עַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם וּמִדַּרְכָּ֖ם הַקָּשָֽׁה׃

But when the judge died, they turned and acted more corruptly than their fathers by following after other gods in order to serve them and worship them; they did not cease from any of their practices or from their stubborn way.

And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

And it came to pass when the judge died, that they turned back and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them: they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

And it hath come to pass, at the death of the judge -- they turn back and have done corruptly above their fathers, to go after other gods, to serve them, and to bow themselves to them; they have not fallen from their doings, and from their stiff way.

But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

于是耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作；祂说，因这民违背我所吩咐他们列祖遵守的约，不听从我的话，

因此上主对以色列大发忿怒说：“因为这百姓违犯了我与他们祖先缔结的盟约，没有听从我的声音；

于是永恒主向以色列人发怒，说：“这国的人对我的约、我所吩咐他们祖宗守的、既越犯了，不听我的声音，

于是雅威的怒气向以色列发作。祂说：“因这人民违背了．我所吩咐他们列祖的我的约，不听从我的话，

וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֥ף יְהוָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֹּ֗אמֶר יַעַן֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָבְר֜וּ הַגֹּ֣וי הַזֶּ֗ה אֶת־בְּרִיתִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֣יתִיאֶת־אֲבֹותָ֔ם וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ לְקֹולִֽי׃

And the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel; and He said, Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and they do not listen to My voice,

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;

And the anger of Jehovah was hot against Israel; and he said, Because this nation hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and hath not hearkened unto my voice,

And the anger of Jehovah doth burn against Israel, and He saith, 'Because that this nation have transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened to My voice --

Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel and said, "Because this nation has violated the covenant that I laid down for their forefathers and has not listened to me,

所以约书亚死的时候所剩下的各族，我也必不再从他们面前赶出，

所以约书亚死的时候所剩下的各族，我必不再从他们面前赶出。

因此，约书亚死后仍剩下来的列国，我也不再从他们面前赶走，

为此，若苏厄死后所剩下的民族，我也不再由他们面前，驱逐任何一个，

גַּם־אֲנִי֙ לֹ֣א אֹוסִ֔יף לְהֹורִ֥ישׁ אִ֖ישׁ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם מִן־הַגֹּויִ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־עָזַ֥ב יְהֹושֻׁ֖עַ וַיָּמֹֽת׃

I for My part will no longer dispossess from before them any of the nations that Joshua left when he died,

I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:

I also will not henceforth dispossess from before them any of the nations that Joshua left when he died;

I also continue not to dispossess any from before them of the nations which Joshua hath left when he dieth,

I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.

为要借着这剩下的各族，试验以色列人，看他们肯不肯谨守遵行我的道路，像他们列祖谨守遵行一样。

为要借此试验以色列人，看他们肯照他们列祖谨守遵行我的道不肯。”

为试验以色列是否谨守遵行上主的道路，有如他们祖先所遵行的一样。”

为的是要借着这些国的人来试验以色列人、看他们肯不肯谨守永恒主的道路、而遵行它，像他们祖宗谨守遵行的样子。”

为要借此试验以色列，看他们肯谨守雅威的道，遵行它们，像他们列祖一样谨守，或是不肯。

לְמַ֛עַן נַסֹּ֥ות בָּ֖ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הֲשֹׁמְרִ֣ים הֵם֩ אֶת־דֶּ֨רֶךְ יְהוָ֜ה לָלֶ֣כֶת בָּ֗ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר שָׁמְר֥וּאֲבֹותָ֖ם אִם־לֹֽא׃

In order to test Israel through them as to whether or not they will keep the way of Jehovah by walking in it, as their fathers kept it.

That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.

in order to try Israel by them, whether they are keeping the way of Jehovah, to go in it, as their fathers kept it or not.'

I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the LORD and walk in it as their forefathers did."

这样，耶和华留下各族，不将他们速速赶出，也没有交在约书亚的手中。

וַיַּנַּ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־הַגֹּויִ֣ם הָאֵ֔לֶּה לְבִלְתִּ֥י הֹורִישָׁ֖ם מַהֵ֑ר וְלֹ֥א נְתָנָ֖ם בְּיַד־יְהֹושֻֽׁעַ׃ פ

So Jehovah left these nations, not dispossessing them quickly, and did not deliver them into the hand of Joshua.

Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.

Therefore Jehovah left those nations, without dispossessing them hastily, neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.

And Jehovah leaveth these nations, so as not to dispossess them hastily, and did not give them into the hand of Joshua.

The LORD had allowed those nations to remain; he did not drive them out at once by giving them into the hands of Joshua.
