我又见日光之下所行的一切欺压。看哪，受欺压的流泪，无人安慰；欺压他们的有势力，也无人安慰他们。

我又转目注视在太阳下所行的一切暴行：看，受压迫者眼泪汪流，却无人安慰；压迫人者手中只有权势，却无人加以援助。

我又看、日光之下所行的一切欺压：看哪，受欺压的流泪，无人安慰！欺压他们的、手里有势力，也无人安慰！

我转而察看．日光之下所发生的一切欺压。看哪，受欺压的人(流)泪，无人安慰他们；欺压他们的人那一边有权势，无人安慰他们。

וְשַׁ֣בְתִּֽי אֲנִ֗י וָאֶרְאֶה֙ אֶת־כָּל־הָ֣עֲשֻׁקִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר נַעֲשִׂ֖ים תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ וְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ דִּמְעַ֣תהָעֲשֻׁקִ֗ים וְאֵ֤ין לָהֶם֙ מְנַחֵ֔ם וּמִיַּ֤ד עֹֽשְׁקֵיהֶם֙ כֹּ֔חַ וְאֵ֥ין לָהֶ֖ם מְנַחֵֽם׃

Then again I saw all the acts of oppression that are done under the sun; and indeed, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of the oppressors was power, and they had no comforter.

So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

And I praised the dead, who have already died, more than the living, who are still alive.

And better than both is he who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

וְרָאִ֨יתִֽי אֲנִ֜י אֶת־כָּל־עָמָ֗ל וְאֵת֙ כָּל־כִּשְׁרֹ֣ון הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה כִּ֛י הִ֥יא קִנְאַת־אִ֖ישׁ מֵרֵעֵ֑הוּ גַּם־זֶ֥ההֶ֖בֶל וּרְע֥וּת רֽוּחַ׃

Then I saw all labor and all skill in work, that it is man's jealousy for his neighbor. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Then again I saw vanity under the sun.

有人孤单无二，无子无兄，却劳碌不息，眼目也不以财富为足。他说，我劳劳碌碌，刻苦自己，不享福乐，到底是为谁呢？这也是虚空，是极重的辛劳。

有人孤单无二，无子无兄，竟劳碌不息，眼目也不以钱财为足。他说：我劳劳碌碌，刻苦自己，不享福乐，到底是为谁呢？这也是虚空，是极重的劳苦。

有人孤单无依，没有儿子，没有兄弟，仍劳碌不休，眼目也不以自己的财富为足。他问：“我劳劳碌碌，刻薄自己不去享受，是为谁呢？”这也是虚空，是劳苦的担子。

有个孤独无伴的人，既没有儿子，又没有兄弟，却时常劳苦不息，他的眼总是贪得无厌，从来不问：“我辛辛苦苦，节制享乐，究竟是为谁？”这也是空虚和大不幸。

有人孤单无二：没有儿子也没有弟兄，他的一切劳碌永无了结，他的眼目也从未以财富为足，以玫他从未自问：我劳劳碌碌、薄于自奉，而不享乐，到底为的是谁？这也是虚空，是极吃力的劳苦。

有人孤单无二，无子无兄，竟劳碌不息，他的眼目也不以钱财为足。(他说：)“我劳劳碌碌，使自己不享福乐，到底是为谁呢？”这也是虚空，它是极沉重的工作。

There is one alone and without a second; also he has no son or brother. Yet there is no end to all his labor; moreover his eye is not satisfied with riches. For whom then, he says, do I labor and deprive myself of good? This also is vanity and grievous travail.

For if they fall, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls and does not have another to lift him up!

וְאִֽם־יִתְקְפֹו֙ הָאֶחָ֔ד הַשְּׁנַ֖יִם יַעַמְד֣וּ נֶגְדֹּ֑ו וְהַחוּט֙ הַֽמְשֻׁלָּ֔שׁ לֹ֥א בִמְהֵרָ֖ה יִנָּתֵֽק׃

And while a man may prevail against the one, the two will withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

And if a [man] overpower the one, the two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

And if the one strengthen himself, the two stand against him; and the threefold cord is not hastily broken.

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

贫穷而有智慧的少年人，胜过年老不再纳谏的愚昧王。

טֹ֛וב יֶ֥לֶד מִסְכֵּ֖ן וְחָכָ֑ם מִמֶּ֤לֶךְ זָקֵן֙ וּכְסִ֔יל אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־יָדַ֥ע לְהִזָּהֵ֖ר עֹֽוד׃

Better is a poor but wise youth than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to be admonished.

因为人能从监牢中出来作王，虽然他在国中生来原是贫穷的。

这青年虽在国中出身贫寒，但由狱中出来，执政为王；

这人即使是从监牢中（有古卷作：从叛徒之家）出来作王，或者在国中虽则生来穷乏，还是不晓得纳谏

这人是从监牢中出来作王，在他的国中生来原是贫穷的。

כִּֽי־מִבֵּ֥ית הָסוּרִ֖ים יָצָ֣א לִמְלֹ֑ךְ כִּ֛י גַּ֥ם בְּמַלְכוּתֹ֖ו נֹולַ֥ד רָֽשׁ׃

For one can come forth from prison to reign, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.

For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.

For out of the prison-house he came forth to reign, although he was born poor in his kingdom.

For from a house of prisoners he hath come out to reign, for even in his own kingdom he hath been poor.

The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom.

我见日光之下一切行动的活人都随从那少年人，就是起来代替老王的继承人。

我见日光之下一切行动的活人，都随从那第二位，就是起来代替老王的少年人。

我看见所有在日光之下行走的活人，都随从那取代老王的年轻人。

我看见一切在太阳下行走的活人，都拥护青年人，新继位者，来代替老王。

我看见日光之下一切走来走去的活人、连同那位居第二位的少年，就是那要起来代替旧王的，

我见日光之下一切行动的活人都．随从那少年，就是起来代替他(指老王)的第二位。

רָאִ֨יתִי֙ אֶת־כָּל־הַ֣חַיִּ֔ים הַֽמְהַלְּכִ֖ים תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ עִ֚ם הַיֶּ֣לֶד הַשֵּׁנִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲמֹ֖ד תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

I saw all the living that went about under the sun with the youth, the successor, who stood up in place of him.

I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

אֵֽין־קֵ֣ץ לְכָל־הָעָ֗ם לְכֹ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־הָיָה֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם גַּ֥ם הָאַחֲרֹונִ֖ים לֹ֣א יִשְׂמְחוּ־בֹ֑ו כִּֽי־גַם־זֶ֥ההֶ֖בֶל וְרַעְיֹ֥ון רֽוּחַ׃

There was no end to all the people, to all before whom he stood, yet even those who come after will not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
